What can you sell at a stall? How to open a stall on wheels

Considering the situation in our country, the question is: “How to buy an apartment for a young family?” sounds very relevant. The best option is a subsidy for the purchase of real estate.

But the state machine is a very clumsy system, so the newlyweds have to independently find a way out of the current situation, because not everyone has rich relatives or an inheritance in the form of real estate.

Today, Reconomica wants to introduce its readers to the real story of an ordinary young family and talk about a topic that is relevant to many of our compatriots. We will talk about buying a home, or rather about how to earn money for it yourself.

A few words about myself

My name is Vysotskov Vladimir Yuryevich, I am 29 years old. I live in the city of Belaya Kalitva, Rostov region.

At the moment, fortunately, I was able to earn money with my girlfriend for my own apartment and buy it with my own money, and not borrowed from my parents or on credit.

To be honest, we have been dating since we were 14 years old, so we have already gone through a lot, but this simply means that we know how to achieve our goals. To be more precise, we bought our own apartment when I was 28 years old, in fact, like my wife, because we were born the same year.

Bookstall

The main condition for opening a book stall is a favorable location. The place should be a walk-through place, for example, train stations, metro stations, airports. To attract all generations of people, you need to offer the client a diverse range. The sale should include classic works, as well as currently fashionable fantasy books.

The book business can be profitable if you find your client. When implementing a book selling business, you will need the following equipment:

  • cash machine;
  • showcase;
  • books;
  • copier and printer.

It is recommended to purchase books from publishers. It is also possible to sell used books at a small premium. You can install a copy machine and printer in the kiosk, which will generate additional income.

To implement such an idea you will need from 450,000 rubles. Most of the costs will be the purchase of books and the purchase or rental of a kiosk.

Do not forget that to open any business you need to register an individual entrepreneur and obtain permission from local authorities to place a kiosk.

First money for an apartment

We looked at many different advertisements on the Internet for the sale of two- or three-room apartments, but could not find an option that could satisfy both of us.

We have always dreamed of our own apartment.

Apartment cost

One day we found a suitable option - it was a three-room apartment with an area of 53 square meters, which cost 1,200,000 rubles, on the second floor out of five. We really liked this proposal, although we thought there was a catch somewhere.

I called the number indicated, the owner of the apartment answered me and said that he was currently in Moscow and would be able to come only in 5 months, then it would be possible to draw up documents for the purchase and sale of the apartment. But a couple of days later he called and said that everything was cancelled.

Wedding and first money in the piggy bank

Since I was planning to propose to my girlfriend, I did not delay. She agreed and we applied. Soon we got married, less than four months passed.

If we talk briefly about the wedding, we had about a hundred people, and they gave us about two hundred to three hundred thousand rubles. At that time we were 23 years old.

Our first money for an apartment was given to us at our wedding.

We immediately put aside these three hundred thousand rubles and began to think about how we could earn about a million within three or four years, because we wanted our own nest, but at the same time we wanted to relax, at least in the summer.

So it occurred to me to invest this money in something that could generate income, but without any risk.

I thought that three hundred thousand would be a small amount and decided to ask my parents to lend me a million rubles for five years, without any explanation. I’ll tell you what actually came into my head at that time, which was young.

In small provincial towns, the vast majority of people have low wages. And even if you want to leave an unloved place where they pay little, you simply have nowhere to go.

Why is it impossible to find high-paying jobs in the provinces?

1. In a small city, there is a small market not only for labor, such a city does not need many products and many services. Since the market is limited, wages are limited.

2. Since salaries are small, the market has nowhere to grow. It's a vicious circle.

Of course, if you raise people’s salaries several times, they will spend more and traders will rush to the city, they will hire the unemployed, in general things will work out, but in fact this is impossible, because having received big money in a small town, a person will get out of “this hole” , or will go to have fun in another place (Regional center, Moscow, Canary Islands, .... (underline as appropriate)) An example of such small exceptions are the cities of “Nefteskvazhinsky” where people only work. and the money is spent elsewhere.

Why do they pay the same little everywhere in the province?

Yes, because money in the provinces is taken only from:

1. Budget (state, municipal), in which, by definition, there is always little money.

2. Factories, enterprises built in Soviet times and producing non-competitive rubbish.

3. Small businesses or branches of large chains.

If everything is immediately clear with the first two points (a small group of officials with family connections is in charge here), then we can say something separately about small enterprises. Local branches of large chains do not need good specialists with high salaries; the goal of the branch is to pump money as much as possible towards the head office.

And small enterprises are small because they operate with small volumes and small profits. They are limited by market size and lack of ambition. My wife now works at one of these. Advertising company, four people, one main customer and that’s it! They don’t want to develop... and that’s how they work. They tried to expand, but it didn’t work, so development stopped in the bud and they work somehow.

Where should a specialist go to work after University?

1. There is an option to go to your specialty at a local “factory” or factory, a municipal enterprise, get paid “kopecks” and hope that in twenty years the head of the department will finally retire (although it’s time for him to go there). There is an option: do not wait for the promotion and be “downsized” earlier, or drink yourself to death from routine and hopelessness.

2. Look for a long time for a salary slightly above average and either not finding one, or if one is found, hold on to it with all your might, work overtime, proving your exceptional need to the company.

3. Forget about education and open your own business. Here you either have to either receive an inheritance, or be enslaved to a bank for a loan, or work as a farmhand for many years for “pennies” in order to accumulate initial capital to open your own business.

4. Go to a big city, where a salesperson at McDonald's receives more than a certified specialist in the province.

That's exactly what I did. At the time of graduating from the University in Novosibirsk, I was offered 3 (three)!!! times the salary than in a similar office in his hometown.

Why not work via the Internet in the provinces?

Yes, you can work via the Internet from anywhere, but making money on the Internet, as well as offline, very much depends on your environment. If the average salary in the region is 10,000 rubles. Then, having reached 15 people on the network, they usually calm down and stop doing anything. If you often read blogs, you have met people whose online income has been stable for several years in the region of $300-500; this is precisely the category of people who strive to live slightly above average.

Those who take on making money online in Moscow are required to squeeze out at least $1,000 from the network, because renting an apartment in Moscow starts from 25,000 rubles. Therefore, Moscow “moneymakers” earn more.

The average standard of living in a region means a lot online. Sometimes I often catch myself doing nothing, because it doesn’t seem bad anyway, why work?

Why shouldn't you even try to start making money on the Internet?

1. Because most will fail. Out of about 100 people who are interested, 5 will do something and only one will do it well and make a profit from it.

2. Don’t think that if someone earns thousands of dollars on the Internet, you can do the same in the near future. For some, such income is the result of several years of work.

3. Earning money on the Internet is not stable. For example, Google or Yandex changes their algorithms and your doors don’t even fit into the index, or a new law comes out according to which all “leftist” pharma shops do not have the right to trade and accept transactions from US citizens. Everything will be banned, parcels will not reach the addressee. Or are you trading links in SAPE, Yandex is changing its algorithm, the search results do not depend on external links, and who will need your sites with zero traffic?

4. No one (except yourself) will pay taxes or contribute part of the money to the pension fund, as well as social insurance, medical insurance, everything will be in question until you are “legalized” as an individual entrepreneur or in other ways.

5. No one will force you to work. Many people, without a “magic push” from their boss, won’t lift a finger. But if in a “factory” you can receive money for the fact of being present at work, then on the Internet money is obtained as a result of work, often monotonous, tedious and incredibly large volumes.

After which I immediately quit and started this blog (the blog is already 12 years old). I went through the path of making money on the Internet from bonus hunting to a professional Internet marketer. Now I work exclusively on the Internet, do traffic arbitrage, travel, and blog. Final result

And so, over all these five years, since our wedding, we were able to collect the amount that we planned - 1,400,000 rubles. As a result, we bought an excellent two-room apartment for 1,150,000 rubles, which we were pleased with.

We were finally able to buy ourselves an apartment.

True, we got it thanks to our parents, who gave us a million, and our grandmother, who helped us with this contribution.

Of course, I believe that I contributed a piece of my work, like my wife, but still, everything main remains with the family, as well as by coincidence.

In the future, we are planning to buy a car, but this will most likely be on credit, since it is very difficult to save up a large sum in a short period of time when you work a simple job and do not have a six-figure salary.

Sources of additional income in winter

If your kiosk is located in the relative center of the city, then in addition to the all-season assortment, you can add heated baked goods and hot drinks. This will not require unnecessary costs, since you can literally buy a microwave oven and a thermos kettle for pennies. Imagine how many people dream of warming up while waiting for transport at a bus stop - these are your potential clients who are easily attracted by the smell of hot pastries and coffee. In addition, you can offer simple take-out dishes, such as dumplings or dumplings. However, it is necessary to monitor the quality of products so as not to lose customers.

Do not forget that some types of goods require permission. It is better to take care of receiving it than to conflict with supervisory authorities.

A glass of hot tea or coffee is good when you need to wait for the bus or have a quick snack on the way to college, but in residential areas, as a rule, you expect a slightly different assortment from stalls. A person returning home from work is not interested in pies and hot drinks. But such people are often interested in buying products for the home, and here the cold season can be to your advantage. For example, by installing a remote tray with frozen vegetables, fish, and semi-finished products, you can significantly increase turnover, especially if you carefully monitor the expiration dates of products. At the same time, you do not need to buy special freezing equipment - winter will do everything for you.

Types of business

In a small town, a business can be closed or open.
When open, interaction occurs with both local consumers and clientele from nearby settlements. When a business is closed, the whole business is concentrated only in its own city. Goods and services are sold in one place. Most often, such a business is opened by a service provider to the public. The manufacturer of goods is trying to expand the range of action.

In a small town, the main thing is to offer something previously unused and unique. This is the only way to gain clientele. Needs that are not satisfied by other businessmen are what a new entrepreneur must satisfy. Then the company will be able to offer the product in demand. Competitors usually target the average buyer, excluding people's right to receive exclusive items.

Small business is a popular and very promising industry. Cafes, mini-restaurants, cinemas are examples of businesses for private entrepreneurs. Organizing a profitable business in a small town is within the power of any person with a certain amount of resources.

There are a lot of options for ideas. An impressive starting capital is not required. And the result from thoughts and fears is zero. So without certain actions applied to the proposed opportunity, success is impossible. This means that you need to act and start a business in a small city without delay.

Where to begin

First, you need to remember three key questions of economics and give answers to them in relation to the future enterprise:

  • What will be sold? It is necessary to decide on the product (group of products) that will be supplied to the local market. At the same time, the characteristics of the city, the needs of its residents and its own capabilities are analyzed.
  • How will the products be sold? Next, you need to think about how trading will be carried out. Perhaps, in this case, the construction of a shopping center will bring greater profit, or the potential of the local market and its own resources will be exhausted by a small store or even a stall (tent) for seasonal trade.
  • Who will the products be intended for? Then it’s worth identifying potential buyers. Will it be the entire population (for the sale of food, medicine, repair goods, plumbing, etc.) or some part of it (owners of cars or pets). It is likely that the products sold are aimed at customers of a certain gender, age or social status (for example, women's, men's or children's clothing stores, selling school supplies).

Of course, endless planning will not replace the real work of creating a business, but the more accurately and completely the answers to these questions are given, the fewer problems will arise in the future.
