The so-called World Wide Web can give everyone hundreds of options for passive income. From all this mass, one special one can be singled out - this is the Chinese trading platform AliExpress, which will be discussed in our article.

I met the official Aliexpress affiliate program by accident and was skeptical at first. The fact is that one of my friends decided to create a channel on YouTube about goods from China that he constantly bought (all small things for 1-2 dollars from sales with free shipping) and he needed a good camera, which he took from me rent!
So he started filming, editing, uploading his videos, I looked at all this with a grin, but I was also interested in the end result. And when he had only a few hundred subscribers and a couple dozen videos, a representative of the official Aliexpress affiliate program approached him and offered cooperation. All it took was a little bit: you had to register with them and receive, in return for standard links to the main store or to specific products, special “shortened” links generated automatically in this very account. If, after clicking on such links, a visitor buys something, he will be awarded a small percentage.
And here I was skeptical: well, just think, even if someone buys something... this 8% from an affiliate program is mere pennies. But time passed, he continued to develop the channel, increase the number of videos and subscribers, and his income gradually grew in this order:
10$ - 15$ - 50$ - 150$ - 300$... etc.
A little later we will return to this story and I will tell you how it all ended and how much he earns now, and also give a link to the channel where you can verify the truth of my story.
How to make money on AliExpress products
Making money on goods from AliExpress is a fairly popular way to work with a Chinese website. You can resell goods with Ali. This is a good way to make money, because the prices on the site are very low and you can add any markup. Many people buy goods and resell them with a markup of up to 300%.
In this way, you can start with a small number of products, try your hand at it, and then gradually increase the volume of products you sell. This method, of course, requires certain investments, but they are not that large. Try to choose the most cost-effective product.
There are two ways to resell products from AliExpress:
1. Buy goods and store them in a warehouse/home or any other suitable premises.
This is the most standard scheme for reselling goods. You purchase goods, deliver them to your storage and resell them through a real offline store or through an online store.
If you decide to use this method, then pay attention to a few points:
- Choose a product with an average price. Expensive goods may sell poorly or not sell at all; too cheap goods will be sold, but will not bring the desired profit. Therefore, choose something in between;
- Your product must be popular. You don't need a product that no one buys. Monitor the market and try to find out what is in great demand now. Do you remember how a couple of years ago spinners appeared on the shelves of all stores and what a hype there was around them? Then they were purchased for some 50 rubles and sold 4 times more expensive. Now there is no point in purchasing this product, because the demand for it has dropped significantly. Therefore, you need to follow the trend and sell hot goods;
- Heavy goods may cause problems at the border. Therefore, it will be easier with light goods;
- Paid and free delivery. Paid delivery of a consignment of goods can cost you a pretty penny. That is why it is better to take a closer look and look for a seller who can send the goods for free. In this case, you will have to wait longer for delivery, but this way you can save a lot.
The scheme is not complicated, but there is always a risk of failure. You should not discount the possibility that your product simply will not be sold or that for some reason it will be detained at the border. In order to avoid such situations, approach the matter responsibly and analyze a lot, look for ways to solve problems long before they arise.
The advantages of this method of earning:
- your buyer will not have to wait long for the product, and this can be the decisive moment when making a purchase;
- there is no risk of force majeure during the transfer of the order to the buyer.
2. Dropshipping system
Entrepreneurs, and especially beginners, often resort to this method of earning money. This way you can save a lot on renting a warehouse and order only the goods that customers need. The latter guarantees that you will not have any unsold surplus goods that simply have nowhere to go. This means that you will not incur losses for this product.
How the dropshipping scheme works:
- a person places an order from you for a specific product;
- you order this product on AliExpress;
- the product comes to you, you repackage it and send it to the buyer, setting your own markup.
Of the obvious disadvantages of this method: delivery from China takes from 20 to 60 days + there is always a risk that the goods may arrive even later or get lost somewhere in the mail. In the second case, the money for the goods will be returned to you, but you will lose the buyer. You will have to open a dispute and prove to the seller that the goods were not delivered. In addition, if the goods will be shipped within two months, then not every buyer is ready to wait that amount of time.
Selling through dropshipping is considered a reliable and stable earning scheme. But when working with AliExpress, this system works a little differently and has significant risks due to long delivery times.
Before choosing a method of selling goods from AliExpress, carefully analyze all the pros, cons and possible risks. It is difficult to say which of these methods is better, because everyone draws a conclusion based on their capabilities and personal experience. The prospect of losing your money is unlikely to attract you, so approach the issue responsibly.
My earnings
Looking at my friend’s success, I also wanted to participate and get my piece of the huge Chinese pie called: “Goods from Aliexpress” and I began to act...
Since I never knew how to work on camera and didn’t like doing it at all, YouTube was not suitable for me. Now I understand that I was very mistaken and you can work differently on this video hosting, but more on that later...
I decided to create a VKontakte group with a special focus, because this is the easiest and fastest way to start promoting in the chosen direction, at least I don’t know anything simpler. If you know, write in the comments under the article, I’ll be happy to read it.
How much do I earn now
So fans of financial stripteases have waited for me to undress. But I have to disappoint you a little: the income is not so outstanding and I can’t compete with the huge army of sellers of video courses on making money on the Internet, waving large stacks of bucks and posting screenshots on their sites that often make your hair stand on end.
From the affiliate program I get “net” about 150-200 dollars a month, plus from paid advertising in my group - 1-3 thousand rubles (since advertising is served very rarely).
Someone will laugh and ask: “Was it worth it?” I will answer: it was worth it! Since this is almost passive income, it’s not for nothing that I mentioned “net” income above.
At first I spent about a couple of weeks, but now it takes me about an hour a month! Everything works with my minimal participation and income has been received monthly on an ongoing basis for a whole year.
In addition, at the very beginning I made several critical mistakes and if they had not been there, the numbers could have been different. And the income itself is constantly growing, in a year I plan to receive 2-3 times more in my hands.

In turn, I am ready to tell you, as a reader and, possibly, a subscriber of my blog, all the nuances of the work, protect you from my first serious mistakes and answer any questions that arise.
Types of affiliate programs (AP): Portals, Admitad and EPN
In general, Aliexpress has several official affiliate programs. At first, without thinking, I registered in PP Portals , which I later greatly regretted. They pay the lowest percentage of customer purchases that I know of, payments are only made through PayPal - not very convenient for Russian-speaking countries, and the withdrawal percentage there is terribly high, support is only in English and is very slow. In addition, there you need to go through a very long account verification procedure, which can take a month and you just might not be able to get through it with a new VKontakte group.
Then I turned my attention to Admitad . This is perhaps the largest platform on the RuNet for various affiliate programs, but due to such “giantness” they have a very sophisticated interface, which is not easy for even an experienced affiliate user to understand. In addition, their affiliate programs sell very dubious products, such as “enlargers” of various body parts, strange, incomprehensible toys, etc. In view of this, Admitad links are often blocked by some antivirus programs, plugins, and browsers, and this directly affects our income.
Wrong choice of affiliate programs was my first fatal mistake at the very beginning of my work.

This is the affiliate program I’m working with now and I’m happy with everything. My friend started working with them, but I considered myself smarter and began to experiment, which I later regretted greatly.

By the way, a small life hack: by participating in this affiliate program, I also receive payments for my own purchases. I simply create a link to the product I need (more on that below), then click on it and order it. It turns out to be more profitable than through any cashback service. Affiliates have always been and are paid more than cashbackers. And this is not prohibited by the affiliate rules, everything is absolutely clean and legal.
Vkontakte community
The VK group will be your source of traffic (visitors), and therefore a source of income. You can register as many affiliate accounts as you like and create as many shortened links as you like, but this will be of little use without your own resource.
Creating a community is very easy, but first you need to think about its main theme, “philosophy” if you like.
No, “Aliexpress” or “Products from Ali” is not a topic, because... it will be too blurry. Enter the key phrase “Aliexpress” or “Aliexpress” in the VK search and look at popular groups. There are many of them and they all earn money using this strategy, but don’t be afraid of competition - there are enough VKontakte users for everyone.
Here are a few themes that you can use:
- Products up to... (for example, “Products up to $2” or “Products up to 100 rubles”). People love cheap things, and Ali has plenty of that;
- Unusual. Ideally, come up with your own niche, which is not yet on the social network. For example: “Carbon products”, “Funny jokes from Ali”, “Rare from Aliexpress”;
- Thematic products. Example: “For motorists”, “For housewives”, “For gamers”, etc. Just don’t take very narrow niches, otherwise later you simply won’t be able to make new interesting posts.
You should think for a very long time, maybe ask your friends and relatives what they are constantly interested in on Ali. The success of the whole business depends on the correct choice of niche. So people thought and created groups such as: “Sex Toys”, “For the Poor”, “Nothing”...

Formation of a VK group
Many newcomers leave the design of the community “for later,” they say, “If there are subscribers, I’ll do the design.” However, according to my personal observations, several times more people join a group with a beautiful thematic design than without it. Internet users today are spoiled by designer masterpieces and are not interested in banal pictures, images, photographs.
This was my second mistake at the start, I decided to wait with the design, inserted a photo of some Chinese factory into the header and a funny Chinese man into the photo. But when, after a while, I updated the design to an original, fun and high-quality one, things went uphill!
Don't believe me? Find modestly designed groups among groups with large numbers of subscribers. Didn't find it?
Where can I get pictures for design? What you really want is unique images with an interesting composition. If you can’t do it with Photoshop, like a drunk with painting a fence, then you can turn to freelancers.
I applied here. There are a lot of performers on this resource who are ready to make a hat and an avatar for literally 500 rubles (~$8). Just keep in mind that each performer is a separate freelancer offering his services. First, look at reviews about him and examples of work done, only then order the work.

Posting
Even before promotion starts, you need to add at least 10 new posts, designed in the same style. Here again it is worth looking at the design of popular groups. Please note: they use images, icons, etc. Here are examples:

It's hard to come up with ideas for new records at first. You can take from other groups in different social networks, but only partially and only the most interesting ones. You can find them in YouTube videos, usually with links to each product underneath. But the best option is to find interesting products on Ali yourself, and then be the first to post information about it on the RuNet! This is especially appreciated by subscribers.

Then in a couple of days I received a bunch of likes and reposts, new subscribers, and earned approximately my monthly income at that time. Adding a site to EPN
From the point of view of affiliate programs, sites, channels and groups in social networks are platforms on which advertising is placed. But first you need to add it to your account and wait for moderation.
In the EPN software we have chosen, VK thematic groups are well received because they know about the effectiveness of advertising in them.
So, let's go to our partner account, created earlier. Go to the “My sites” section and the “Add site” tab:

All! All that remains is to wait for moderation. It usually takes up to one business day. If suddenly the site does not pass moderation, then ask support for the reason, but usually at this stage everything goes smoothly.

There are a lot of tools in the EPN affiliate program, but for our project we will need only one section - this is the “Affiliate link” section:
Just insert a link to any product in Aliexpress, or to the main one, or to a specific seller, promotion, etc... Simply put, you can insert absolutely any link of the Ali platform and get your affiliate:
- Creative name - insert any name for yourself so that you don’t forget where the link leads;
- Select an offer - in our case, leave it as default;
- Link - in fact, any link to Ali, to which the visitor will be automatically redirected;
- I do not recommend checking the “Use to attract users to Cashback EPN” checkbox; a little later we will touch on this issue in more detail.

Promotion of the group
Without promotion, nothing will happen. Promotion is the engine of the entire process. Just as a car won’t run without an engine, a group won’t generate income without one. You can, of course, try to push on your own, but it won’t do any good.
Romantics and dreamers who believe that a high-quality and interesting group will promote itself through search, likes and reposts, sooner or later are left with nothing, despite enormous efforts.
You will need funds for PR, at least at the first stage. Then, if you already have a decent number of subscribers, you can organize free mutual PR with well-promoted communities, but for now you need to invest. And the more you can invest at this stage, the more strength you will “breathe” into your project and the faster you will achieve a good income.
I warn you right away: the Internet is full of “agencies” and freelancers offering a certain number of fans on social networks for a certain amount of money. As a rule, this is just a promotion of useless “dead” accounts.
Also, you should not use promotion services like Buksov, specialized resources, as this is the same promotion. There will be no sense from the cheated participants, but advertisers will then bypass them, and VKontakte itself will not pat you on the head for cheating.
Only truly “white” and useful methods of promotion are described below...
PR by personal agreement
It's simple: look for similar communities, negotiate with their owner or manager about PR, pay and wait for new readers of the group.
There are two disadvantages:
- Payment is made directly and there are no guarantees. Although, in my cases, there were never any kicks, since it is easier for group owners to place advertisements in accordance with the personal agreements reached than to have problems in the future;
- You need to independently search and agree on what to spend a lot of time on. Often the answer about the possibility of advertising comes only a few days later, when the budget has already been spent;
PR through advertising office
Your VKontakte account has an advertising account through which you can automatically post an advertising post in other communities.

Please note: in the advertising account there are two essentially different ways of presenting it: “targeting” and “advertising in communities”. With targeting, I really couldn’t achieve good results, but with the second method it’s much easier.
We simply write our advertising text, send it for moderation, after which we top up the balance, select suitable platforms and advertise on them.
When composing an advertisement, you should not use the expressions: “the best”, “the most interesting”, etc. This may not pass moderation, since according to the laws of many countries, when mentioning superiority in advertising, it is unacceptable, or you need to indicate where, when and by whom this superiority was noted and provide documents.
Also, many beginners try to write a large or even huge text in advertising, in which they describe the group in detail. Their idea is clear: the more I describe, the more people will be interested. In fact, this is also not a very good approach, people simply don’t like to read a lot of text, but an interesting “catchy” picture works very well.
I have experience in both submitting my own and placing other people’s advertisements in my group. I have seen ad statistics many times and can judge the effectiveness of different advertising posts.
PR through an advertising account is almost the same as the previous method - PR by personal agreement, but you don’t need to negotiate with the owners of advertising platforms yourself, there are also already fixed rates and a convenient search using a whole set of parameters:
How to select groups for PR
If you look only for groups on the topic “Aliexpress” or “Goods from China”, then their number may not be enough for full promotion, so pay attention to the topic of your (niche) community.
For communities like “The coolest and most interesting with Ali,” you can choose entertainment groups (humor, demotivators, jokes, etc.).
If you have something like “For cars with Ali” or “Products for women,” then you can find the corresponding groups in the “Auto/Moto” and “Beauty and Fashion” sections, respectively, there are actually a lot of options, you just need to think, leafing through the sections and looking at advertising sites.
Before writing this article, I recommended this type of income to a friend, but he could not find suitable platforms for PR. He had a theme: “Products under $2”, I looked at his posts and found that about half of the products in them were either products for children or for the kitchen/home. So I sent it to the “Home and Family” section.
Competitions
During PR, competitions for some kind of gift from China work very well. It can be very cheap, but with the right selection it can bring in a lot of new subscribers/participants.
Free mutual PR
When you have already gained a certain number of fans, organize mutual PR with authors of other communities by joint agreement. It is better if this is carried out by cross-posting on different days repeatedly.
That is, you don’t need to immediately post his post in your group when he posted yours. Imagine, people follow a link to your group and immediately see a previously familiar post at the very top. The “Bayan” (junk) setting is triggered in the minds of users and many will leave because of this. Agree something like this: his post on Monday, yours on Wednesday, again next week, etc. within a month.
Paid promotion by freelancers
And of course, you can always outsource the promotion of the VKontakte group. For example, look at the proposals here. Just check very carefully who you will trust for promotion. Read in detail the offer of a specific contractor and reviews of it from different customers.
Conclusion on promotion
That's all the advertising methods, they are quite simple and understandable. You can, of course, also advertise on the channels of “unpackers” on YouTube and other social networks, but all this is less effective, more expensive and is beyond the scope of this article.
The main thing is to adhere to three rules:
- Do not cheat “dead” visitors;
- Do not spam in other people's groups, you can get BAN for this;
And most importantly: Never stop posting new posts in the group, people quickly forget even what they once liked!

Looking for interesting things on Aliexpress is no less interesting than owning them, but it takes a lot of time. Only a free person can afford this.
Over time, I began to realize that I needed an assistant. Fortunately, one girl I know went on maternity leave and began posting new posts for me, and I give her 33.3% (i.e. exactly a third). I only give away income from the affiliate program, since I completely redirect the funds from placing third-party advertising to the development of the group (I simply buy advertising and pay for gifts to the winners of competitions), which ultimately benefits both of us and only increases income from the affiliate program.
I understand that not everyone has a friend who is looking for part-time work during maternity leave. But via the Internet it is very easy to find a suitable worker on freelance exchanges or simply by informing the group about the search for an editor with a separate post.
Here are the benefits of delegating work to another person:
- Many are willing to work even for minimum wage, since such work does not require any specific skills;
- It is very easy to teach a new person, since almost everyone has their own VKontakte account, they know how to use it, and the posts themselves are extremely simple;
- Employees try to make posts as interesting as possible, working for a percentage of income;
- They try doubly if the prospects for promotion and gradual increase in income are clearly explained to them;
- You free up your own time and can work on new groups, and maybe a YouTube channel or even your own website.
True, not many are ready to assess the real possibilities of work “for the future”, but only want to receive a standard salary; I don’t work with such people. Agree, what kind of remote worker is someone who is not directly interested in results? You can still somehow work with them in a factory or in the field, constantly “standing over your soul,” but on the Internet there is no such opportunity.

At the beginning of the article, I talked about the story of my friend, who as a result introduced me to the Aliexpress affiliate program. It's time to talk about him. At the moment, he has not been running his channel for about 2 years, although at the time of its closure there were almost 15 thousand subscribers, about 180 videos were uploaded, and several competitions with prizes were held.
No, he was not disappointed, he just had serious family circumstances and had to leave for another country.
Finding it on YouTube is very simple: enter “Chinese Channel” in the search and you will find it. His name is Avtandil, and you can hear my voice behind the scenes, since I was the one who filmed it.
About a year ago I added a few videos of myself, but stopped there because videos and the YouTube channel are not my thing. And I’ve been “afraid” of the camera since childhood. It’s easier for me to administrate a VKontakte group.
According to him, the income from the channel has now dropped significantly and it is as follows:
- From the YouTube affiliate program (advertising in videos) - $5-10 per month;
- From EPN affiliate: $50-100 per month.
Thus, even a channel that has been “dead” for about two years is capable of generating some kind of profit, and if it were to develop, the income would be an order of magnitude greater. Therefore, if you are not afraid of the camera, or know how to edit videos well, then I recommend that in parallel with the promotion of the group, you should also promote the YouTube channel; together, it is always easier and more effective.
What is the Aliexpress affiliate program in simple words
So, the first thing you need to understand is how the earning system on Aliexpress works. Aliexpress provides anyone with the opportunity to advertise their website or individual products. The person who advertises the product must have his own platform where he will place affiliate links. For example, this could be a page on a social network.
The second point is that this site should be more or less promoted. If you have 50 people as friends, 20 of whom are your relatives, then advertise - don’t advertise, you won’t receive any income.
The best option is to have your own informational blog . I'll explain why below.
And lastly, at first, forget about money. Only those who love their work, their business, can get a good income. Get ready to acquire the skills to write selling texts and spend time.

- Do not give up. Even if it seems that the community is growing too slowly, go forward, because the road can only be mastered by those who go forward. For example, it seems to me that such an income of $150-200 per month is not worth the work, but I plan to reach completely different numbers over time;
- Do not allow spaces. Postings should be posted daily, otherwise people will quickly forget about you;
- Don't skimp on advertising. Groups of this kind do not promote themselves - this has been verified through personal experience;
- Immediately reinvest your first profit in advertising;
- Do not use a cashback service. The commission from such users is only a tiny percentage, and to start earning normal money, you will need more than one hundred or even a thousand invited users. It’s better to provide direct links to affiliate products, it’s more profitable - I checked!;
