I am still touched by people who receive salaries on Sberbank cards (or other unprofitable salary projects). Then they withdraw all (or almost all) of the funds and pay in cash for purchases. Well, maybe they even use this card for cashless payments in stores. Earning “Thank you from Sberbank.” And then they look for where to spend these thanks. ))))
Bottom line: practically zero benefit for your wallet.
I also have a Sber card. But I hardly use it. Because it doesn't bring me any benefit financially.
Bank cards are created not only for convenience. But also for the owner of the plastic to receive monetary benefits. In a year, for using the “correct” cards, you can “squeeze” 10-20 thousand rubles.
Let's just calculate how much money you lose (underreceive) per year.
And where to start to start making money on debit bank cards.
Interest on balance
First, we need plastic that gives interest on the balance. Moreover, interest should be calculated on the daily amount on the card.
What's the catch?
There are two ways to calculate interest on your balance.
- For the minimum amount in the account during the month. That is, if you put 1 million rubles on your card at the beginning of the month!!! And on the dates 29-30, withdraw (spend) all the money, then you will earn zero rubles and zero kopecks. The opposite situation is also true. Top up your card on the 2nd or 3rd and keep the money in full until the end of the month - there will be no charges.
- Daily percentage. Interest is calculated every day on the amount on the card that day. Next month, usually until the 10th-15th at the most, you are paid the full amount “accumulated” for the previous period.
As a result, your money does not lie as a dead weight, but begins to generate a small income. On the very first day.
Action plan:
- We issue a card with daily interest accrual.
- After receiving a salary or other income, we transfer everything to an income card. You can top up using pens by withdrawing money from one card and topping up another through an ATM. Or simply transfer from card to card for free, through your personal account. In 1 minute.
- We spend money as usual. Only from our income card.
How much can you earn from this?
On average, banks give 7-7.5% per annum on good cards. For example: Benefit from Home Credit Bank or Halva from Sovcombank pour 7.5%.
Example. Your or your family’s total income (and expenses) is 50 thousand rubles per month. We put this amount on the income card. And we begin to use it little by little. With more or less uniform spending, the average monthly balance on the card will be 25 thousand rubles.
7.5% per annum from 25,000 = 1875 rubles.
In 1 year, the card will bring you almost 2 thousand rubles.
Traffic source
The most effective source of traffic for implementing this scheme is VKontakte. And here you can go down 2 paths:
- Post free advertisements in groups about job searches;
- Buy paid advertising in such groups (this will give greater coverage and results);
- Create and promote your group with job advertisements. I wrote about how to create your own VKontakte group in this article.
The ad post should look something like this:
Then people start writing to us. If you have made the conditions very favorable, then there will be a lot of people. Communicate with them on a first-name basis, ask about their age, work experience, and stuff like that. Next, you ask if the candidate has a card, for example, from Otkritie Bank; if he says “no,” then you need to answer something like this:
“Sorry, but we have signed a salary project with this bank and we cannot hire a person without this card, since wages are transferred to it. But you can apply for this card and write to me upon receipt. You need a card like this - HERE IS YOUR LINK THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE IN THE AFFILIATE PROGRAM (you can simply shorten it or link it to a domain).”
If the client says that there is, then you can try to say that they need another one and push in the same link. If there are still objections, we don’t need such an “employee”. Experiment and use social engineering.
That's all for me! Don't forget to subscribe to our Telegram channel so you don't miss other good content. See you again, friends!
Cashback on everything
The second way is to use a card that pours porridge (aka cashback, KB or cash back) for purchases. No “Thank you.” We need real money. Which can be used for their intended purpose.
Any self-respecting bank has among its products cards with the Cash Back program.
Offers of 1% on all purchases can be found almost everywhere.
We count our profit for the year.
50 thousand per month. 600 thousand per year. 1% of this amount is 6,000 rubles.
In fact, this amount can be reduced by 20-25 percent. And a more realistic result will be 4.5 - 5 thousand per year.
Why?
There are 3 reasons why you will not receive the maximum possible amount:
- part of the funds will be spent on purchases for cash (at the market, in a minibus, and so on);
- For some transactions, banks (but not all) may not award cashback (payment for cellular communications, housing and communal services, taxes);
- The bank may round rewards for purchases to the nearest whole number. Bought for 199 rubles. One percent cashback will not be 1 ruble 99 kopecks, but just a ruble.
Together with the interest on the balance, we get an annual benefit of 6 - 7 thousand.
Cashback
Cashback is the return to the client of a portion of the funds spent on purchases. It’s hard to call it a full-fledged income; rather, it’s a way to save a little. But, be that as it may, there will still be a little more money. However, it is necessary to pay attention to the requirements that the bank may impose.
Mandatory expenses
Many financial institutions pay cashback only if the client spends a certain amount from the card. In this regard, not all banking offers can be considered profitable. For example, if, according to the terms of providing cashback, you need to spend 50,000 rubles per month, and your salary barely reaches 30,000.
It is better to choose a bank with a lower return, but a more realistic limit.
Card account maintenance
Before applying for a card with cashback, you need to calculate in advance whether the cashback will cover the cost of servicing the plastic card. Ideally, the size of the latter should be noticeably lower.
Cashback limit
In most cases, banks set maximum limits on the funds they are willing to return for purchases. For some financial institutions this may be 2,000 rubles, for others no more than 5,000.
Debit #Cashback card
Apply online
Customers who often pay by card can use a little trick. You need to issue several cashback cards, use one first, and when you reach the maximum return bar, switch to the next one.
Categories for accrual
Another important detail. Cashback can be awarded for all purchases or only those made in a certain product category or partner stores. In the second and third cases, the percentages are usually higher, but it is first worth analyzing how beneficial this option is in specific situations. If the client spends most of the money in the nearest grocery store (for which the bank will add 3%), and not in a branded clothing store (with 10% cashback), then it makes sense to settle on an offer with a lower percentage.
Cards with high cashback category
Is this not enough for you? Want more money?
There are cards that have certain categories, for which the bank charges an increased percentage (3-5 and even 10%) for purchases. This could be food, transport and gas stations, housing and communal services, entertainment, online shopping, cafes and restaurants.
Choose a card with a category that uses the majority of your budget.
Surely for the majority it is food and shopping in supermarkets.
There is a card “Different from RGS”, which gives 5% for all supermarkets. And 1% for everything else.
We count. We spend 20 thousand on groceries a month. 5% cash back gives 1 thousand. Or 12 thousand a year. For other purchases we will receive 1%. This is plus about 250 rubles every month.
As a result: in annual terms we receive 15 thousand in the form of cashback. Let's add interest on the balance. 16-17 thousand per year.
For fans of Pyaterochka and Perekrestok there is a Halva card. For purchases in these stores, you get 12% back for paying by phone . And 3% if you pay with regular plastic.
Here you can earn about 2-3 thousand in cashback in just 1 month.
Earning cashback
Each bank handles refunds differently:
- money from every purchase,
- money for a certain category of payments,
- bonuses for every purchase (they can be used to pay partner sellers),
- bonuses or money depending on what you pay.
It would seem that the most attractive thing is to get a refund in money, but this is not always the case - the main thing is at what rate, for what and what is the structure of expenses of the card holder.
Again an example from life. I pay only with Corn and, as I already said, I spend about 50 thousand rubles monthly, including:
- for gasoline - 6 thousand.
- for products - 28 thousand.
- for an apartment - 5 thousand.
- for electricity, gas, telephone - 3 thousand.
- for cafes and restaurants—3 thousand.
- other expenses—5 thousand.
For corn, the refund is 1.5% of the purchase price and 3% when connecting the “double benefit” option, but not with money, but with bonuses, you can pay with them at certain gas stations and partner stores, and this suits me, since I have to travel a lot. “Double benefit” cost 900 rubles and I paid for it in the first month.
In a month I receive:
- for communal services (1.5%, double rate does not apply) - 75 bonds,
- for everything else (3%) - 1350 bonds.
I am happy to use about 40 liters of free gasoline for bonuses.
For comparison, with the Alfa-Bank Cashbac card, returns are made in cash at a rate of 10% when purchasing gasoline and 5% when making payments in cafes and restaurants. At the end of the day, it would be possible to return 600 rubles from gasoline, 150 rubles from catering, for a total of 750 rubles.
It turns out that for Corn, the cashback is 675 rubles more, despite the fact that Alpha’s return rate is higher and it pays in cash, not in candy wrappers.
Choosing a strategy
I like to travel by car and wondered whether an Alfa-Bank card would be more profitable on vacation, because the cost structure would change - more money would be spent on gasoline, and I would have to eat only in public catering. Let's count.
Expenses | Cashback |
Gasoline – 15,000 rub. | 1,500 rub. |
Cafes and restaurants - 20,000 rubles. | 1,000 rub. |
Utilities and other expenses – 8,000 rubles. | |
Others – 7000 | |
Total | 2,500 rub. |
For Corn, the cashback would remain the same - 1,425 rubles.
In this option, the advantage of the Alpha card is 1075 rubles.
However, if I go on vacation abroad by car, who will win is another question.
Several cashback cards
For those who are used to saving every penny or simply know how to count their money.
We use several cards, each of which is tailored for a specific spending category. As a result, we get not the pitiful “1% for everything,” but 3-5%. For every 10 thousand spent, not 100 rubles, but 300-500. Simply for using the “correct” card when paying.
How it works?
There is no need to keep money on all available “profitable” cards. We accumulate our funds on one, which gives interest on the balance.
Before going to the store, we simply withdraw money to the card we need and pay with it. Afterwards, the remaining funds can be returned to the income card again with interest on the balance. The entire transfer procedure is done in your personal account (the bank’s mobile application takes 20-30 seconds).
This could give you an extra few hundred per month. Or several thousand a year.

Several ways to transfer money from card to card for free
A few examples.
Sportmaster - the “Sporting Goods” category, for which the Tinkoff Black card often gives a 5% return;
Housing and communal services - it is better to pay with a Multicard from VTB (1-1.5%) or a Heat card from Vostochny Bank - 5%. You need to pay for utilities - transfer the required amount to the Heat card, pay and receive your increased interest.
Pharmacies, hospitals or top up your phone - again Warmth with 5%.
How to save on a credit card
Why do you and your loved ones need a credit card? Frequent answers:
- in reserve;
- I use it when I don’t have enough money until payday.
This approach is the most dangerous, since you can allow the bank to make money. How to choose the best card for making money on the Internet without investments using a bank product?
- The cost of service, it is desirable that the amount be minimal.
- Disable SMS notifications. Initially it seems like a small amount, but over a long period of time it turns out to be a good amount of money paid. Plus, almost every bank has Internet banking, and through the application’s personal account you can monitor your balance, make transactions, etc.
- The period of free use of borrowed money is a grace period.
- Cashback. Remember that cashbacks are different; it is better to choose a refund in real money rather than bonuses.
Choose a card taking into account all the criteria and creating your own combination of key components when choosing. Banks are sometimes cunning, perhaps free annual service is available, but then it turns out that the interest rate for using credit funds is cosmic or there are high fines. Therefore, study the terms of the loan, it is important what is considered more significant for you personally and the situation
General information on making money on cards
Banks have long become an integral part of our lives. They get the money we spend. But there is a way to slightly improve the situation. You can earn money with bank cards without doing anything at all.
There are four ways to earn income using cards:
- Calculation of interest on wages.
- Cashback.
- Cashing out borrowed funds from a credit card.
- Free lending.
Let's take a quick look at each of these methods.
Accrual of % on wages
The earning scheme is extremely simple. You receive your salary - transfer it to a debit card with interest accrued on the balance, and use a credit card for regular expenses. As soon as the grace period approaches its end, transfer money from a debit card to a credit card and pay off the debt.
This way, you can earn income without putting any effort into it. And if you leave the income on the card, then over time you can easily accumulate a fairly large amount.
This is the simplest and most effective way to make a profit. You won't need to do anything, literally just a few movements every 1 to 3 months.
Cashback
This is the most difficult way to earn additional income. You'll need earning credit and debit cards for the product categories you spend the most money on.
Be careful! Bonus categories for some cards change every 3-6 months. Study the information on the bank’s website or in its official groups on social networks.
Cashback not only brings additional income. It teaches you how to properly distribute your personal budget and understand how money is spent.
In order to control your spending, you can enter it into a simple Excel spreadsheet. Every month you fill out the columns and roughly plan your expenses by category.
This approach will significantly increase your income, self-discipline and help you better understand the methods of earning and saving.
Cashing out from a credit card
This is another option for earning additional income. You will need:
- A credit card with a long grace period and no fees for wire transfers to other cards.
- Debit card with maximum interest on the balance.
The essence of the method is as follows:
You transfer borrowed money from a credit card to a debit card. Wait until the end of the grace period for the loan. Transfer money back. Interest remains on the card.
By working this way, you also do not make unnecessary movements. You simply use borrowed funds from the bank to earn income from them. The same couple of clicks every 1 - 3 months, and now additional money is already in your pocket.
Free lending
If you want to develop your own business, then you need initial capital. And there are not many ways to get it for free: investing, interest-free loans, grants. All this is quite difficult for a beginner in business to implement. Credit cards are one way for small businesses with a short production cycle to receive free funds. What kind of business is it suitable for:
- Resale of Chinese goods.
- Investing on the Internet.
- Organizing a home business.
- Creating communities on social networks.
- Seasonal business.
The main thing is that you should receive your investment in the first few months. The ideal option is to resell goods. Every time you purchase products, you can use borrowed funds. They sold it -> they gave the loan back without overpayments -> they took the profit for themselves.
If you are a cool currency specialist and have a rough idea of when the rate might fall and when it might return, you can use borrowed money to carry out your operations. Use borrowed funds -> convert into foreign currency -> wait for the exchange rate to increase -> convert back -> return the funds. But here you have to take into account commissions, so it’s not suitable for everyone.
Cashback
To increase customer loyalty, banks offer them cashback - a return of part of the funds spent. In fact, this is more savings than income. However, you have a little more money, you can’t argue with that.
What to pay attention to
Mandatory expenses
Often, in order to receive cashback, you must spend a certain amount of money from the card. Pay attention to this parameter, because not every bank offers conditions that suit you.
For example, in advertising they promise to return a lot of money, but at the same time you need to spend at least 50 thousand per month. This will not be easy to do if you only earn 20 thousand.
You don't need this kind of cashback. It is better to choose a bank card that returns less money, but the limit is within your control.
Card service
The cost of servicing the card should be significantly lower than the amount that will be returned as cashback. Calculate in advance how much you will receive on average from the bank.
Cashback limit
Usually there is a limitation: some banks return no more than 2 thousand rubles, others - no more than 5 thousand.
If you spend a lot, it makes sense to have several cashback cards and pay with one first until you reach the upper return limit, then switch to the second.
Categories for cashback accrual
Some banks return a fixed percentage of all purchases, while for others the amount of charges varies depending on the category of product. You can get increased cashback on purchases at the bank’s partner stores.
Analyze where you spend your money most often and choose the option that benefits you.
For example, 14 thousand are spent a month on purchases, of which six are for groceries, two are for movie tickets, one each is for paying for public transport and household chemicals, two are for clothes and shoes, and another two thousand goes to no one knows where.
Bank 1 offers a 10% cashback on movies, 7% on clothes and shoes, 15% on gasoline; bank 2 - 5% on groceries and 1% on other expenses; bank 3 - 3% on everything.
Cashback | |
Bank 1 | 200 rubles (cinema) + 140 rubles (clothes and shoes) = 340 rubles. You are not interested in gasoline, you travel by public transport |
Bank 2 | 300 rubles (food) + 80 rubles (rest) = 380 rubles |
Bank 3 | 420 rubles |
The table shows that there is no need to chase numbers, it is better to weigh everything. Or pay attention to a bank where you can choose your own spending categories with cashback.
How do scammers withdraw money from a bank card?
The method of illegally withdrawing funds from a card depends on what information the attacker has obtained. The main options for obtaining benefits are as follows:
- If the card is read through a skimmer, then the scammers make a duplicate of it. The PIN is calculated using an ATM overlay or a hidden camera on the device.
- Knowing only the card number, criminals carry out the registration procedure in online banking. All that remains is to fraudulently obtain the one-time password from the owner. After logging into the system, scammers transfer funds to their accounts not only from cards, but also from all client deposits.
- If the fraudster knows the card details (number, expiration date and security code), then it can be used to pay in online stores that do not require SMS confirmation (for example, AliExpress - you can find out whether it is safe to make payments on this trading platform find out in the corresponding material).
One of the ways to write off funds is also the “Mobile Bank” option.
