But reputable companies still make such “ characteristics ” among their requirements (more precisely, wishes) for candidates for a position.

Yes, yes, that’s exactly what the document looks like - however, the reference does not open the doors of important offices, but the letter of recommendation very much does.

No one has the right to demand this “relic of the past” from you, but it will be a significant addition to your resume .
