How to make money on YouTube from scratch by watching other people's videos

By creating an Internet account on a specific topic, you will search for other people’s materials and post them on your own. Changes are welcome - this will make the work of the hosting “punishers” more difficult. Having turned on monetization, get mentally ready to get rich. This is a gray scheme, the hosting administration does not like this. You need to start by searching for sources. The options are as follows:

  • Creative Commons (a type of license in which the author allows you to use their content for commercial purposes);
  • search on other resources (social networks seem to be a good solution);
  • dubbing of foreign videos;
  • making money from trailers (you attract traffic to certain films and TV series, and your affiliate program pays you for this);
  • torrent trackers (promotion of special services or built-in advertising).

How to create an original video from someone else’s and where to find unidentified videos for YouTube?

1) Using the Creative Commons function. To use it, go to YouTube, click the Add video button, and you will see a scissors icon in the lower right corner. Click the Change button below it. Next, from the provided icons, select the second one in the shape of a circle with the letters “SS” - Creative Commons. Only users with a good reputation can use this feature.

And if you change videos in this way, you automatically agree that other YouTube users will also be able to change it after you. Do you know which videos can be modified using Creative Commons? – Any of your videos, videos marked with CC BY or those that are in the public domain. After uploading and editing the video, you can connect monetization to it and start earning your first money.

2) There is also the option of downloading videos from social networks: Odnoklassniki, Vkontakte. There are very few videos from Russian social networks on YouTube. 3) VIMEO service. Download videos from this resource and upload them to your channel. 4) You can download videos from Rutube in the same way. 5) Or edit videos using various programs created for this: Camtasia Studio, Sony Vegas and others.

Copyright in YouTube

Practice shows that you don’t have to have your own content on YouTube, but the shop will quickly close down. Hosting is now actively taking on copyright violators. Until 2020, YouTube was considered one of the most loyal resources in this regard. At first, the earnings statistics will please you, but later the strikes will fly, and the channel may be blocked.

Goals and Functions of a YouTube Channel Trailer

A channel trailer is one of the methods of attracting and informing a new audience. Developers offer video hosting users to demonstrate different welcome content to different types of users. For those who are already subscribed to the video channel, a recommended video is shown, and for guests who have not yet subscribed, a trailer is shown.

The main function of the trailer is to introduce users to the specifics and content of your channel. It should explain the theme of your channel to the guest. It doesn’t matter what genre you work in: you make reviews of the city’s public transport, a tutorial on how to deceive your mother and not go to school, or, no matter how typical it is, vlogs about the hard life of your cat. The main thing is that the guest understands what your content is about - how and how you will help him or simply entertain him.

More seriously, a trailer can really become an effective image tool for informing and attracting new subscribers. This method is well suited for commercial channels of companies. An unobtrusive, but at the same time informative story about the activities of a business will help to form the right opinion in the viewer, which will contribute to his conversion into a buyer.

For example, the Russian chain “Dodo Pizza” in its preview talks about the opening of its first pizzeria in China. When watching the video, you will learn about the company’s field of activity and its new successful endeavors.

Dodo Pizza

in the trailer talks about the capabilities of the new application, which allows you to control the current status of your mobile account.

mts

Cosmetic has chosen a tutorial using its decorative cosmetics as a preview. Demonstration of products and technology for their application clearly makes it clear the specifics of the company’s activities.

Avon

The Russian auction “CarPrice” talks about the technology of its online auction in its trailer.

Now that we understand why the trailer is needed at all, and have prepared an excellent video preview for the channel, we move on to directly downloading it.

Illegal videos

We are talking about videos that violate other people's rights. You don’t have to create anything - the business is built on the appropriation of other people’s materials. The downside is that YouTube quickly identifies such projects. Two tools are used to detect intruders. “Complaints” allow copyright holders to set the administration against your channel using a special button. “Content ID” uses technical means to search for illegal content.

An important point: not only the video itself must be original, but also the soundtrack. If someone's composition is heard on camera and you don't have the rights to it, that's bad. However, videos can be remade using special editors (Sony Vegas or Adobe Premier). You can do the following:

  1. Edit frame (height and width).
  2. Increase the plan.
  3. Provide videos with watermarks and frames.
  4. Form slices.
  5. Insert new soundtracks and your own voice acting.
  6. Edit the soundtracks themselves (volume level and other parameters).

How my first video was stolen.

It all started with the “Cats&Dogs” group announcing a competition on Facebook.:) It was necessary to make a video about pets. And the one whose video gets the most views will receive a prize. I had never made such videos before, I thought that no one watched them. And it was even stolen, it’s funny over.

Then I decided to take part and try to make a viral video. I made a new channel for such videos. I created a video in Kamtazia studio, here it is, of course it’s not so hot and it’s made from gifs, these are moving photos. They are still permitted content. Moreover, I took the ones that are used every step of the way on the Internet.

I removed this video from the article because some people in the comments made claims that there were other people’s dogs that I did not raise and other people’s pictures.

As for the pictures that I used illegally.:) If the author or owner of the dogs provides YouTube support with a document confirming that the pictures or dogs belong to him. Then my video will most likely be deleted!

I did not write the article to offend anyone. Everyone wants to make money. But they don’t always know what some actions can lead to.

So, further about the competition... But I didn’t calculate it a little, because on the day the competition was launched, I came down with a fever. I wanted to refuse and even left the race. And then I decided that I would not retreat and come what may. Why was I wasting my time and energy?

My video took 2nd place in the number of views. I began to occasionally go to the channel and track the fate of my video. It’s interesting how fast these videos gain views. The most amazing thing is that they are being watched! But here's what I noticed. For some reason the views stopped getting at all...

I decided to find out what was the matter. I typed the title of this video in a YouTube search... and saw my video there. But posted by another person on his channel. It turns out that this is what’s going on. My video was simply stolen. And they didn’t even notice that there was a watermark there.

I clicked on the flag under the video and filed a complaint with YouTube support.

ATTENTION!!!

Be careful and don't just click on the icon! If you do this without serious reasons, your channel may also be banned!

The re-uploaded video was removed after an hour. Here's a screenshot.

And I went to the channel of the “figure” who stole my first viral video. And on that channel they uploaded 20 videos a day! Of course, the same stolen ones as mine. And here are the consequences this led to

I would like to note that my complaint was the third in a row, since the channel was blocked!

But the saga with my “terribly popular” video did not end there. I type the name of the video into the search and get ready to see it in its rightful place. But it was not there! There is the same video of mine, but uploaded to another channel. A channel with the same last name, but with a male name.

Again I click on the flag under the stolen video and send a message about the theft to support. It is removed. I type the name again in the search. I want to regain the position of my video. You will laugh, but my video is there again, and again it was stolen by the third channel. To be honest, it was funny to me myself.

Again I carry out the same procedure with a message in support. But this time the user deleted the video himself! There is progress. Whether the person knew what he was doing or not, whether he read or did not read the rules of video hosting, I don’t know.

But I want to warn visitors to my blog against such troubles. You CANNOT re-upload someone else's video!!! If YouTube catches the channel owner doing this 3 times, the channel is deleted without the right to create new channels! Do you need this? I think no.

And yet, sometimes I come across publications from participants in the MLM promotion method: You download the video, put the address of your blog there and upload it to the video hosting again. Well, this isn't funny at all. Not only does a person endanger his channel, but there is also zero benefit from this method. Have you ever typed the URL in the video? Me not!

YouTube copyright or don't steal!

Sanctions applied to violators

The actions described above involve certain risks. At first, you will be happy to receive and spend easy money, but then something terrible will happen. YouTube applies three types of sanctions:

  1. Removing a video.
  2. Channel blocking.
  3. Disable monetization.

Copyright holders actively use the Content ID system. One complaint won't kill you, but it will result in a six-month monetization cutoff. If violations on your part continue, you will be banned. In reality, the copyright holder may become very angry and file a lawsuit against you. How much money you will lose if you lose is difficult to predict. To reduce the likelihood of such a move on the part of the enemy, do not get involved with large media holdings and drag content from not very well-promoted bloggers.

Who makes money from other people's videos?

Any hosting user can create channels filled with “borrowed” content and earn a decent income. Professional bloggers compare such a scheme to a soap bubble - you don’t know when everything will burst. There are authors who specialize in Comedy Club and similar humorous videos. These guys can boast an unreal number of views. The monthly earnings of such bloggers range from $1000-3000.

Now let's take a closer look. According to statistics, projects with stolen content “live” for 4-12 months. You know how to make money from other people's videos on YouTube, but you shouldn't be under any illusions. Channels will constantly close and you will have to start over again. The only way to get around this problem is to master video editors at a serious level in order to subsequently “unique” the videos.

Where to get legal content to make money

First of all, you should abandon promoted content - such videos are well recognizable. This means a quick calculation, a ban and a lawsuit to boot. You don't need:

  • talk show;
  • clips of pop artists;
  • materials from top bloggers;
  • KVN.

make money from other people's videos

Avoid working with YouTube directly. Use third party affiliates. You will have to share a percentage of the profit with media networks, but the risks will be significantly reduced. By stealing popular content, you can get a strike literally two or three days after publication. However, there are also legal sources from which information is drawn. Here are some examples:

  1. Radio (photos are used instead of video, and a recorded broadcast is in the background).
  2. TV programs (there are channels for which copyright does not mean anything).
  3. Presentations (slides and photographs plus independent voice-over).
  4. Streams (cuts are made, the popular Twich service is used).
  5. Amateur videos (the authorship of a user filming on a smartphone is very difficult to prove).

Common user mistakes

  1. Publishing popular content. In pursuit of quick money, many YouTube users take great risks. For example, the owner of the channel posts commercial videos with high ratings (KVN episodes, clips of famous groups, interviews with Hollywood stars). Copyright holders don't like this. The complaint will be made immediately.
  2. Working directly with YouTube. To circumvent violations, it is better to use affiliate media networks for work. It's not free, but it's more reliable. Problems are only possible if the violation is noticed by the copyright holder.

If you receive a copyright infringement notice, please remove the offending content. Make it unique. Don't wait for complaints and sanctions.

Please be aware that copyright holders are familiar with tracking methods for copied videos. One complaint will not lead to account blocking, but you will not be able to monetize it for about 6 months. Serious copyright infringement may result in legal proceedings.

Additional Information

Want to make easy money without making your own content? The easiest way to do this is through Google Adsense. Amounts are credited if users respond to embedded blocks and go to the advertiser’s website. It costs about 6-20 cents per click. If you choose a different monetization method, then for every thousand views you will get 2-4 dollars. If you wish, you can work with other affiliates.

What video parameters are changed to bypass Content ID? First of all – sound, lighting and length of the video. Proceed carefully. A random song playing in the background can have serious consequences. Hosting rules are constantly becoming stricter and algorithms are being improved. Take these nuances into account.
