Business plan and equipment for foam production

On this page you will find ready-made sets of equipment for the production of block foam of all brands in accordance with GOST 15588-2014, for the production of sheet foam, for the production of permanent formwork, for the production of thermal panels, for foaming granules for furniture and for polystyrene concrete. To see the composition of the equipment, simply click on the desired example. Equipment sets differ in productivity, set of additional equipment and degree of automation. If none of the presented options suits you, you can write to us with a request with the technical parameters of the required production. We will put together a kit suitable to complete your tasks.

Conclusion

The production of polystyrene foam is currently a very popular business area in some regions of the country. For this reason, if you choose the right region for opening a business, and also follow all the nuances of doing business in this area, then profit will not be long in coming.

To properly distribute opportunities and funds, a business plan for the production of polystyrene foam must be drawn up. For a better understanding of the topic, readers are offered a sample business plan for the production of polystyrene foam, which can be downloaded for free.

Workshop setup

To accommodate a foam production line that allows the production of up to 50 m² of products per shift, a room is required that meets the following requirements:

  • The area of the main workshop is at least 150–200 m²;
  • Ceiling height - at least 4 m;
  • Air temperature - not lower than 15°C;
  • Three-phase power line with voltage 380 V;
  • Connection to water supply or other permanent water sources;
  • Ventilation system.

In addition to the workshop, the production of foam plastic requires the presence of a separate warehouse of 50–75 m² for curing blocks and storing finished products. As such, you can use an area protected by a canopy from sunlight and precipitation.

Two workers can handle the maintenance of foam making equipment. In addition, some models of steam boilers operating on wood or coal require the constant presence of a fireman. The support staff consists of a part-time accountant and a sales manager.

Selection of production premises

The most important condition for the successful implementation of this project is how correctly the production premises for the enterprise are chosen and how high-quality equipment is used in the technological process.

The premises are selected based on the need to divide it in the future into 3 production and logistics zones:

  • Warehouse, area from 14 sq. m (a compressor is also installed here).
  • A room for installing molds with an area of 56 sq. m.
  • Space for installing racks for drying products and placing finished products, with an area of at least 70 square meters. m.

Such parameters are significant from the point of view of product manufacturing technology. If the height of the mold exceeds 70 cm, then the duration of its pouring increases, therefore, the more strongly the lower layers of the product are pressed. This may lead to loss of density uniformity.

An important requirement for the room is the presence of an effective ventilation system. It must ensure drying of the forms when they are laid in such a way that there is a space of at least 60 cm between the rows, and at least 40 cm between the forms themselves.

Ventilation operates throughout the entire time workers are present in the workshop, i.e. 8 hours a day. When rooms are separated by walls, ventilation is equipped in each of them.

The room is provided with appropriate lighting, based on 4 DRL lamps with a power of 0.25 kW.

At the initial stage of the project, it is planned to use 10 forms. The manufacturing price of each of them is approximately 1,500 rubles. The racks in the room are installed in such a way as to accommodate all the replacement products of the enterprise for drying.

Based on these technological conditions, the enterprise must rent premises with a total area of 150-200 square meters. m. It does not provide heating. In winter, drying is carried out using a small drying chamber of 30-40 square meters. m, where the racks will be located.

Market research

In addition to the technical characteristics of the production building itself, the geographic location of the future mini-factory should be considered. To do this, you should first study the market structure in this area, consider those regions in which there is demand that is not satisfied by supply for foam products. Such regions are most favorable for planning the launch of a new commercial project there.

In addition, in the business plan for opening industrial production of polystyrene foam, future routes for marketing the products must be clearly formed and outlined. Also, in the project for opening a foam plastic production, some seasonality of the business should be taken into account when calculating the main economic indicators.

Marketing and advertising

As an analysis of market conditions shows, the growth in the number of enterprises engaged in the production of penoizol is significantly lower than the rate of increase in the number of potential consumers. This requires a number of activities aimed at creating a positive consumer opinion and a positive opinion about the company.

For this purpose, it is planned to organize the following promotional events:

  • Prepare publications in local media.
  • Develop a targeted advertising scheme by sending letters to specialized construction stores and companies.
  • Develop your own company website with the ability to order products online.
  • Activate consumer demand by developing attractive commercial offers and holding promotions.

The main marketing resource of the enterprise is the high quality of its products, which can be purchased profitably directly from the manufacturer.

Raw materials

In the most common production technology, foam is produced using the following materials and resources:

  • Water (converted to hot steam in steam boilers);
  • Electricity to power the electric drives of the production line;
  • Fuel for the steam generator - coal, firewood, gas, fuel oil;
  • Raw materials for the production of polystyrene foam - expanded polystyrene granules.

Expandable polystyrene PSV is a solid translucent polymer ball with a diameter of 0.3 to 4 mm. Fractions are selected depending on the desired density of the foam - the smaller the initial size of the granules, the heavier the finished product.

Offers from both domestic and foreign EPS manufacturers are available on the raw material market. The cost of a ton of Russian pellets is 70-85 thousand rubles, Chinese - 95-105 thousand rubles. The difference in price is justified by the fact that imported granules open up 10% better when foaming.

Production personnel

A promising area of application of foam plastic is packaging productionA promising area for the use of polystyrene foam is the production of packaging.
You should not assume that due to the acquisition of modern, high-quality equipment, personnel will not be needed for future production. To ensure the direct production process and equipment maintenance, workers and a technologist must be hired.

It is best to recruit workers based on production work in 2 shifts. To work the 1st shift, four workers and 1 technologist must be involved. Accordingly, a total of 8 workers and 1 technologist should be hired.

In addition, an employee must be hired to clean the premises, and an accountant (even if visiting) must be hired to resolve issues of accounting, reporting and taxation.

In addition to the list of employees, the business plan for “Foam Plastic Production” must also indicate their approximate salary.
