Second quarter of 2020 – production calendar
In the second quarter, holidays do not change - they fall on May 1, May 9 and June 12.
There will be no long holidays, as in the first quarter, so the number of working days and weekends in all the following months is almost the same:
- In April , 9 days are allotted for rest; note, April 28 is considered a working day, but a shortened one. And 21 days are allocated for work.
- In May we will rest for 11 days and work for 20 days.
- June has 20 working days, 10 days off and 1 shortened day before the holiday.
Thus, there are 91 calendar days, of which 61 are working days and 30 are weekends.
Moving weekends to weekdays will allow extending the May and June holidays by 4 days:
- Sunday January 7th has been moved to Wednesday May 2nd.
- Saturday 28 April – Monday 30 April.
- Saturday 9 June – Monday 11 June.
Pre-holiday days were reduced by 1 hour.
Working hours in the second quarter are as follows:
- With a 40-hour work week, 485 hours are allocated for work: in April - 167, in May - 159, in June - 159.
- With a 36-hour week, the time to work is 436.2 hours: for the 4th month - 150.2, and for the 5th and 6th - 143 each.
- With a 24-hour week, the shift time will be 289.8 hours: in April – 99.8, and in May and June – 95 each.
Production calendar 2018 with a six-day working week
Organizations that work 6 days a week with one day off use their own working time calendar.
The 2020 work calendar with a six-day work week differs from a five-day one, primarily in the number of days that employees must work. At the same time, employers should not forget that the maximum number of working hours per week remains unchanged - 40, as with the “five-day week”. This norm is prescribed in the Procedure approved by Order of the Ministry of Health and Social Development No. 588 n.
Thus, out of 365 calendar days in 2020, with a six-day working week, there are 299 working days and 66 weekends and holidays.
That is, in terms of the total length of working time there is no discrimination against workers who are employed not five, but six days a week. At a rate of 40 hours a week, you need to work no more than 6 hours 10 minutes a day, and not 8 hours, as with a “five-day work week.”
However, this is not quite true. According to the norms of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, on Saturday you cannot work for more than 5 hours, this is stated in Part 3 of Article 95 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. Consequently, workers can work 7 hours every day on weekdays, and 5 hours on Saturdays. Moreover, if a shortened day falls on Saturday, the shift duration will be only 4 hours.
With a six-day work week, the number of holidays does not change compared to a five-day week, but the number of days off becomes smaller.

* Pre-holiday days, on which work hours are reduced by one hour.
Standard working hours for a six-day week
In accordance with Article 100 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, a number of organizations and enterprises establish a six-day working week with one day off for their employees. The general day off is Sunday (Article 111 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation).
The normal working hours for a six-day working week, as well as for a five-day one, cannot exceed 40 hours per week (Article 91 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation).
For a six-day working week in accordance with the Procedure, approved. By Order of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia dated August 13, 2009 N 588n, the standard working time is also calculated according to the calculated schedule of a five-day work week with two days off on Saturday and Sunday, based on the duration of daily work (shift).
In accordance with Part 1 of Article 95 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, the duration of the working day or shift immediately preceding a non-working holiday is reduced by one hour. With a 6-day working week on the eve of the weekend, the duration of work cannot exceed 5 hours (part three of Article 95 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation).
The standard working time calculated in the specified order applies to all work and rest regimes.

!
Based on Article 112 of the Labor Code, if a day off coincides with a non-working holiday, the day off is transferred to the next working day after the holiday. The exception is weekends that coincide with non-working holidays in January.
The length of the working day or shift immediately preceding a non-working holiday is reduced by one hour.
Since 2013
The Government of the Russian Federation has the right to transfer two days off from the number of days off that coincide with non-working January holidays to other days in the next calendar year.
Labor calendar for the second half of 2020
In 2020, 118 non-working days are planned. Of these, most occur in the first half of the year, since it is during this period that the long New Year holidays, which fall in January, and the May holidays fall. At the same time, citizens will have 247 working days for the entire current year with a five-day week.
Let's consider how many working days and days off the Russian Government has planned for the third and fourth quarters of this year. This is what the production calendar looks like by month for 2020:
- July - 22 working days and 9 days off, no holidays;
- August - 23 working days and 8 days off, no holidays;
- September - 20 working days and 10 days off, no holidays;
- October - 23 working days and 8 days off, no holidays;
- November - 21 working days, 7 days off (1 transfer) and 1 holiday non-working day;
- December - 21 working days, 9 days off and 1 transfer.
Thus, the 3rd quarter of 2020 had 65 weekdays and 27 weekends, and the 4th quarter also had 65 weekdays, but 25 weekends, 1 holiday and 1 postponement.
It is this production calendar with holidays and weekends in 2020 that is followed by all government and budgetary organizations and institutions that work 5 days a week.
For commercial organizations it is also mandatory, that is, when engaging citizens to work on non-working days, the employer is obliged to obtain the person’s consent, as well as pay double or provide other time for rest (at the employee’s choice).
Production calendar for a five-day work week, 2018.
First quarter of 2020 – production calendar
The first quarter of the new year has the largest number of weekends and holidays:
- January is the shortest working month: there are 14 days for weekends and holidays, and only 17 for work.
- In February there are 9 days of rest and 21 days of work.
- And in March, 11 days were allocated for rest and 20 for work.
Remember that February 22 and March 7 are shortened pre-holiday days.
By moving one day off (Saturday, January 6) to a weekday (Friday, March 9), it was possible to extend the spring break and form it into 4 full days off.
We note important information, taking into account all approved holidays in the first three months of 2020:
- Total - 56 working days.
- There are 34 days allocated for weekends and holidays in the first quarter.
Working time standards for the first quarter of 2020:
- With a 5-day working week (40 hours), 446 hours are allocated for working time over three months: in January - 136, in February - 151, in March - 159.
- With a 36-hour work week, working time is 401.2 hours: in the first month - 122.4, in the second - 135.8, in the third - 143.
- With a 24-hour week, the total working time will be 266.8 hours: in January - 81.6, in February - 90.2, in March - 95.
Holidays non-working days
It is noteworthy that holidays most influence the everyday life of Russians. To optimize work and rest time, officials annually postpone weekends and working days, based on the list of holidays and non-working days from Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation:
- New Year holidays - from January 1 to January 8;
- Defender of the Fatherland Day - February 23;
- International Women's Day - March 8;
- Labor Day - May 1;
- Victory Day - May 9;
- Russia Day - June 12;
- National Unity Day - November 4.
These non-working days are repeated annually, along with Saturdays and Sundays. However, officials can arrange a “long weekend” through postponements.
For example, they make Saturday a working day, and Monday a day of rest, or “throw away” unused ones, thanks to the legal postponement of the dates of the New Year holidays. What it is? This is an opportunity directly prescribed in the Labor Code of the Russian Federation.
First and second half of 2020 – production calendar
Working hours standards, according to the 1st half of 2018:
- With a 40-hour week, working hours are 931 hours.
- With a 36-hour week, the time allocated for work is 837.4 hours.
- With a 24-hour week, working time is 556.6 hours.
Working hours standards in the 2nd half of 2020:
- With a 40-hour week, the work time will be 1039 hours.
- With a 36-hour week, working hours are 935 hours.
- In a 24-hour week, the time allocated for work is 623 hours.
Production calendar for October 2020 (5-day work week)
The following non-working holidays are established in Russia (Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation):
- January 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 — New Year holidays;
- January 7—Christmas Day;
- February 23 - Defender of the Fatherland Day;
- March 8—International Women's Day;
- May 1 - Spring and Labor Day;
- May 9 - Victory Day;
- June 12—Russia Day;
- November 4 is National Unity Day.
Weekends may be transferred to other days by federal law or a regulatory legal act of the Government of the Russian Federation (Part 5 of Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation).
In 2020, the following transfers of weekends are provided (Government Decree No. 1250 dated October 14, 2017):
- from Saturday 6 January to Friday 9 March;
- from Sunday January 7 to Wednesday May 2;
- from Saturday 28 April to Monday 30 April;
- from Saturday 9 June to Monday 11 June;
- from Saturday 29 December to Monday 31 December.
At the same time, Saturdays April 28, June 9 and December 29 will be shortened by 1 hour according to the “pre-holiday” principle. If, in accordance with a government decision, a day off is transferred to a working day, the duration of work on this day (in this case, Saturday) must correspond to the duration of the working day to which the day off was transferred (clause 1 of the Procedure for calculating working time norms, approved by order of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation dated August 13, 2009 No. 588n).
Taking this into account, we rest like this:
- The New Year holidays will last 10 days - from December 30, 2020 to January 8, 2020;
- On Defender of the Fatherland Day we will rest for 3 days - from February 23 to 25;
- on International Women's Day 4 days - from March 8 to 11;
- in May we will rest for 4 days in honor of the Spring and Labor Festival - from April 29 to May 2;
- there will be another day off on May 9 in honor of Victory Day;
- Russia Day will be marked by three weekends - from June 10 to 12;
- On National Unity Day we will also have a 3-day holiday - from November 3 to 5;
- Saturday, December 29th will have to be worked, but Monday, December 31st will be a day off.
In the Republic of Crimea, by special resolution of the head of Crimea, additional days off were approved:
- March 18 is the Day of the reunification of Crimea with Russia;
- April 17, 2020 - Easter;
- May 28, 2020 - Trinity;
- June 15, 2020 – Eid al-Adha;
- August 22, 2020 – Eid al-Adha
Calculation of standard working hours
