Drawing up a business plan for a children's hairdressing salon: where to start?
The target audience
Visitors to the hairdresser are children under 14 years old with their parents.
Parents are a separate segment of the target audience, since they bring their child and pay for his haircut. It is important to study both of these segments.
Target audience analysis will include:
- identification of interests, preferences;
- identification of general trends, fashion;
- study of financial feasibility - how much parents are willing to pay for their child’s haircut.
Additionally, the target audience is divided into narrower segments. The main criterion for dividing is the age of the potential visitor. For example, the interests of children aged 10 and 14 years may differ significantly. This must be taken into account when planning business.
Compiling a list of services provided
The list of services includes:
- baby haircut;
- clipper haircut;
- model haircut;
- classic haircut;
- creative haircut;
- cutting bangs or hair ends;
- styling for girls;
- creating an image;
- for the whole family - haircuts for children and their parents.
Market, competition and risk assessment
The market for services aimed at children is just developing in Russia. Demand for them is growing faster than the market. This creates favorable conditions for the development of such business.
In most cities, competition is either minimal or completely absent.
Possible risks:
- It is possible that at first there will not be the expected flow of clients.
- Lack of stable demand. Parents usually take their children to get their hair cut on weekends because they work on weekdays.
- Rapid emergence of competitors. Most Russian entrepreneurs are conservative; they do not reform their business until they personally see a positive example of a competitor.
- Long payback period.
Registration
The procedure for registering a business should begin with choosing a legal form. Preference should be given to individual entrepreneurship, since with this form of government it is possible to reduce the tax burden. In addition, it is much easier for an individual entrepreneur to conduct reporting activities than for a legal entity.
We recommend using the simplified taxation system, therefore, after registering an individual entrepreneur, we submit an application to switch to a 6% simplified tax system.
A prerequisite for opening a children's hairdresser is the purchase and registration of a cash register with the tax authority.
In addition, the entrepreneur needs to take care of the safety of clients and staff and the availability of permits from the fire inspectorate and the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service.
A hairdresser for children can carry out activities according to OKVED code 96.02:
- 96.02.1 “Providing hairdressing services.”
- 96.02.2 “Provision of cosmetic services by beauty salons and hairdressing salons.”
There will be no additional costs for purchasing a license, since this type of activity is not licensed. Cosmetic services that require a medical license will not be provided in our salon.
Self-registration of a business will cost about 2.5 thousand rubles (payment of state fees, stamps and opening a current account).
Permits and documents
Choose a legal form for your business. For one hairdresser, it will be enough to register as an individual entrepreneur.
You will need:
- Documents confirming registration of business activities: certificate of registration of individual entrepreneurs, extract from the Unified State Register of Individual Entrepreneurs
- Lease contract
- Documents for a cash register
- Conclusions of the SES
- Employment contracts with employees
- Health records for hairdressers
Renting premises in a shopping center will relieve you of obligations regarding the electrical network, sewerage, security, garbage removal and solid waste (technical and household waste) and other things. Such responsibilities are assigned to the TC and are specified in the lease agreement.
Documentation
We’ll talk about the specifics of the business below, starting right away with the paperwork. They start by choosing a form of entrepreneurial activity. If the goal is customer service, it makes sense to register as an individual entrepreneur.
Having registered as an individual entrepreneur, you must submit an application to the tax office at the place of registration to choose a taxation method (patent, single tax or simplified).
After this, they begin to choose a room. It will be needed to obtain permits from three organizations:
- Rospotrebnadzor.
- Fire service.
- SES (sanitary and epidemiological service).
To obtain permits to carry out activities, it is important to take a number of measures. The following will be checked:
- availability of water supply;
- availability of drainage;
- operation of the ventilation system;
- method of arranging water heating;
- room parameters;
- availability of health certificates;
- provision of sanitary areas.
You cannot open hairdressers in basements and use paper wallpaper for decoration.
Convenient access to the entrance should also be provided. To become familiar with sanitary standards, you will need to study SanPiN 2.1.2.2631-10.
Let's move on directly to choosing a room. This is not as simple as it might seem at first glance.
Costs and profits
To open a children's hairdresser you will need about 600,000 rubles. Profit depends on the chosen shopping complex, the location of the hairdresser in it and the quality of the services provided. Let's consider opening a children's hairdresser in central shopping malls in St. Petersburg.
Payback for a children's hairdressing salon will take 12 months with an average monthly profit of 50,000 rubles. Profit is influenced by the professionalism and disposition of hairdressers towards children.
Please note that when concluding a lease agreement, TCs take an advance payment for three months.

Monthly profit, including fixed costs: 300 thousand – 110 thousand = 190 thousand rubles. After taxes, we will receive an income of approximately 170 thousand rubles. However, it must be taken into account that the planned volume of attendance still needs to be reached. This may take, depending on the preparedness of the audience, from several months to a year.
Based on the calculations made, we can conclude: the business’s payback can occur within the first six months. However, there are factors that influence the payback period: level of attendance, location, rental cost, etc. They can either slow down the payback process or speed it up significantly.
Business difficulties
Difficulties that businessmen face when opening this business. Everyone complains about the very high rent in shopping and entertainment centers (from 1 thousand rubles per square meter of area), but it is difficult to think of another way to attract visitors at the initial stage. Surrounded by a special children's infrastructure, the salon has the highest chances of gaining a regular clientele, even saving on advertising.
Another disadvantage is that procedures for adults that bring in the lion’s income: highlighting and coloring, perm, coloring are not allowed in your salon. At the same time, you can do without cosmetic procedures and medical licenses. But how nice it is to be the first and the best at something, it’s worth the risk. Our children want to be fashionable and beautiful, and therefore creatively cut and combed, so this segment of the hairdressing market tends to develop rapidly. Fill it out and good luck!
Where to start opening a children's beauty salon
To open a children's beauty salon, you must rent a premises with an area of at least 80 square meters.
The best option for locating such a business would be a large shopping center.
This will reduce advertising costs, since many families coming for shopping will certainly want to look into the newly opened beauty salon .
After a businessman manages to find a suitable premises, he needs to start recruiting qualified personnel.
The staff of a children's beauty salon must include at least 2 hairdressers, an administrator, a cleaner, and an accountant.
It is advisable that employees undergo training in special psychological centers, this will allow them to improve their skills in working with young children.
Much attention should be paid to creating an unusual interior interior.
It can be decorated with toys and balloons. It is advisable to have a play area in the room.
As you know, many children do not like to sit in line; they begin to be capricious. To distract them, you can invite them to watch their favorite cartoons on the wall-mounted TV screen.
To increase the profitability of a children's beauty salon, it makes sense to provide a range of services not only for little visitors, but also for their mothers.
Many modern parents are constantly pressed for time, and most likely will want to get a haircut or a manicure in the same place where they brought their child.
The beauty salon for children can offer not only hairdressing services, but also manicures, as well as face painting, various types of massages, earlobe piercings, makeup lessons, etc.
The initial stage in opening a children's hairdresser
This publication will help you learn how to open a children's hair salon from scratch. Of course, if you feel strong enough to open a children's salon from scratch, then start immediately. Well, if you don’t want extra hassle, there is an option to purchase a franchise. When choosing the first or second method in opening a salon, you need to adhere to several rules. Here's how:

Let us immediately note that a significant part of your costs will fall on the arrangement of the interior decoration of the room; accordingly, it is worth arranging your room with a children's theme. Think through all the nuances of how you will decorate the walls, what toys you will have in your salon, choose tools in bright, colorful shades.
We bring to your attention a list of costs for opening a hairdresser for children:
- Special child seats with a lifting mechanism. Their cost is from 15,000.00 rubles.

- Upholstered furniture from 15,000.00 rubles.
Special tools and baby care products from 20,000.00 to 30,000.00.
This is a one-time amount, and every month you will have to spend approximately 5,000.00 rubles. Other expenses related to advertising, purchase of toys, gifts and treats. All these costs will amount to about 3000.00 rubles monthly.
But regarding the salaries of employees, here you need to negotiate in advance and spell everything out in the contract. We recommend that you set salaries for foremen rather than piecework wages.
As for the design of the room, here you are free to do it yourself. Either come up with a design yourself, or seek help from specialists. But you will have to hire finishing specialists. This expense item will cost much more than others, starting from 100,000.00 rubles. Children's music should be played in the salon, and the most beloved and popular cartoons should be shown on TV. The atmosphere in the hairdresser should be simply wonderful, so that children and their parents would like to come to you again. For those children who are nervous and do not sit quietly, recommend washing their hair at home.
Advertising and Marketing
Effective means of attracting attention from customers will be:
- Placing a colorful sign in front of the salon entrance.
- Placing advertisements about the opening of a children's hairdresser in stores related to children's themes, in schools and kindergartens and other establishments aimed at the same audience.
- Contextual advertising in Yandex and Google.
- Creation of a salon group on social networks (VKontakte and Odnoklassniki).
- Advertising a hair salon on local forums on relevant topics.
At all times, word of mouth has been considered the most effective advertising, the respect of which can only be earned through honest and fruitful teamwork of all participants in the labor process.
In addition, after the opening of the hairdressing salon, the following discounts and bonuses for clients will apply:
- Bonus “Merry Holiday”: on your birthday, get a stylish hairstyle for free.
- Promotion “Come with a friend - get a 30% discount on a haircut” (for new clients who are not in the database).
To make a children's hair salon a truly fashionable and popular place, you can organize events such as a children's fashion show with prizes, where the best works of the masters will be presented, which clients will appreciate and will certainly return again, taking a couple of friends with them.
How to choose a supplier
Choose chairs with an original design for older children; for children it is important to install chairs in the shape of animals or cars. Buy cosmetics in online stores from wholesale suppliers. Order high quality tools from professional stores. When choosing a supplier, pay attention to the following points:
- Availability of a quality website
- Large assortment of goods
- Make sure the supplier is reliable (read reviews of cooperation)
- Check out the loyalty system: discounts may depend on order volume.
Room and interior
The search for rental space should begin with choosing a location. Good options would be: premises near kindergartens, schools, residential areas of the city with high population density, children's entertainment shopping centers. When choosing a location, evaluate the competition; it is advisable to start working where there is none yet.
The next parameter will be the area of the room. The average children's hairdresser occupies 35 - 45 sq.m., depending on the number of hairdressers who work there. The calculation of the area is done on the principle that for one master you need to allocate 6 - 7 sq.m. and add space for the administrator, a waiting area and outerwear, as well as a bathroom. In our case, we will take into account about 45 sq.m. for 2 hairdressers.
A prerequisite is the presence of all communications, including ventilation, since all this is included in the list of requirements of the inspection services.
Why is it important to decorate the interior? One of the main differences between your hairdressing salon as a business and a classic salon is the moment of interior design. You will need to develop a design project, focusing on the availability of interior items and furniture in your region. The room should be light and bright. The walls are decorated with either children's drawings or images of cartoon characters. Workplaces are designed in different formats; for boys these can be chairs in the form of cars, and for girls in the form of flowers and other design solutions.
A huge plus, if the space allows, will be the organization of a children's play area with soft rugs and toys.
Another option for a niche business in this market segment is opening a barbershop. Format, personnel, tools and business profitability.
Selecting a room
Profit depends on the chosen location of the children's hairdresser. It is necessary to choose a shopping mall with high traffic. It is important to choose a location near children's stores and playrooms.
A room with an area of 30 m2 is optimal for 6 workplaces. The cost of such a place in shopping malls in central areas with high traffic will cost 60,000 rubles.
Be sure to coordinate the design with the TC administration. A children's hairdressing salon should attract attention and interest children, but not violate the overall style of the shopping center.
Hair salon for children
The design of a hair salon for children should attract the attention of little restless clients. Not all kids like to get their hair cut, so it is important to distract them from the process and switch them to bright decorative elements. It is better to decorate a salon of this kind in bright colors.
The most budget-friendly design option is to paint the walls in soft blue and pink shades and paste up images of famous cartoon characters. Nowadays it’s easy to find self-adhesive film for decoration that’s inexpensive and beautiful.
A TV broadcasting channels for children would be appropriate in a children's hairdresser. Ideally, it is better to have a media player and an extensive video library so that you can include cartoons or movies at the request of small clients.
The chairs in such a salon must be special. Most often, car chairs equipped with a steering wheel and a seat belt are ordered from furniture manufacturers for beauty salons. A cheaper option would be a stand that is installed on a regular hairdresser's chair or next to a sink for washing your hair. This will make it more convenient for both the master and the child.
Mirrors can be decorated with colored baguettes or bright, funny images can be pasted onto them - this will decorate and refresh the design of the hairdressing salon. The photos posted in the article confirm this.
Recruitment
The personnel of the enterprise includes the following positions:
- Hairdresser-stylist – 3 employees. The salary will be 30% of the cost of the service. The costs of consumable materials fall on the shoulders of the entrepreneur. When selecting a hairdresser, you should focus not only on the hairdresser’s professional abilities, but also on his ability to get along with children, interest them, find contact with them, and resolve conflict situations. Often you will be contacted by parents whose children do not like to have their hair cut, and therefore it is difficult for a regular hairdresser to work with them. The creativity of the master in this case should be manifested not only in the variety of hairstyles and haircuts made, but also in an individual approach to each child. Of course, the conditions created in a children's hair salon will help distract the child from the process of cutting hair, but this cannot be done without the pedagogical skill of the stylist.
- Administrator – 1 employee. The salary will be 20 thousand rubles. The administrator performs the duties of forming a client base, is responsible for incoming and outgoing telephone calls, and takes care of the comfort of the establishment’s clients and their parents while waiting. Preference is given to a candidate with a pedagogical education or experience working with children.
- Cleaning lady – 1 employee (salary will be 10 thousand rubles). At first, the duties of an accountant can be performed by the owner of the hairdressing salon himself in order to save money.
Let's calculate the profit
Let us immediately note the fact that the profitability level of children's salons and hairdressing salons is at the level of 20 percent, but this takes into account the fact that the price of a haircut is approximately 350 rubles. The payback period for this business is about 1.5 years. It will be possible to increase profitability and, accordingly, increase the payback period thanks to additional services:
- manicure – for children;
- ear piercing services;
- aqua – makeup;
- training courses for parents on braiding and holiday hairstyles.

Negative aspects of this business
Today, with the help of this publication, you were able to learn about how to open a children's hairdresser with minimal investment. Of course, there are also negative aspects in such a business.
- Firstly, rental payments are quite large if you rent premises in a shopping center, about 1000.00 rubles per square meter. But there’s no way you can bypass this moment, it’s just an ideal place, since there are a lot of children and children’s departments around, you can even save on advertising in the first few days.
- Secondly, services such as highlighting, perm, i.e. All those that are used by adults are strictly prohibited in children's hairdressing salons. But despite this, you can take risks, because it’s so great to be the first. Children, like adults, strive to look beautiful. And we think that this kind of service is only gaining momentum, that is, there is a prospect.
We wish you good luck!
What franchises are there?
The market for children's hair salon franchises in Russia is not distinguished by a variety of offers, but there is plenty to choose from. One of the leaders is considered to be the network of children's beauty salons "Vobrazhulya", which is the largest network in the country. The first studio opened in 2010 in St. Petersburg, and the franchising system was developed in 2012. Over the course of several years, the network has grown to 70 points, a salon was opened in Kazakhstan, and it is planned to launch hairdressing salons in other CIS countries. Another chain from St. Petersburg, Veselaya Comb, occupies a strong position, with more than 50 open outlets throughout Russia. Both networks are distinguished by a wide range of services, which, in addition to haircuts, includes master classes on braiding for mothers and daughters, ear piercing, glitter tattoos (temporary tattoos based on sparkles), children's face painting and much more. “Imagining”, positioning itself as a beauty salon for children, also provides services for children’s manicure, eco-manicure (using a special harmless varnish) and makeup. Also among the franchises you can find less developed networks that are inferior to the leaders in terms of territory coverage, for example, offers from hair salons “Kudryashka”, “Kesha Good!”, “Chub-Chik” and others.

Profitable children's hairdressing salon: advice from market players
The business is doomed to success if the children's hairdressing salon gains the reputation of an establishment where little clients simply do not notice manipulations with scissors. The profitability of this business is 20-30%, and there is plenty of room for new players.
For adults, the hairdresser must be a virtuoso, capable of creating a stunning hairstyle out of nothing. In the case of children, he is first a psychologist, and only then a master.
The business is doomed to success if the children's hairdressing salon gains the reputation of an establishment where little clients simply do not notice manipulations with scissors. However, to achieve the required effect, craftsmen have to show miracles of ingenuity. “Once a fairly old boy came to us, about 6-7 years old. At first he asked how old the hairdresser was, why she was not married, and then... he fell asleep, sleeping until the end of the haircut,” says Tatyana Lubanova, development director of the Igroland chain. “And one child was brought in already asleep, cut his hair and taken away in the same condition - he didn’t notice anything.”
At the moment, children's hairdressers are mostly organized at large children's goods stores, being more of an additional service, a kind of manifestation of loyalty to customers, rather than an independent business. In almost 100% of cases, a visit to a children's hairdresser ends in the purchase of a toy, market participants say. Natalya Bakhchivanzhi, head of the marketing department of the Antoshka chain of stores, says that the idea of opening a children's hairdresser at the toy store came to the owners spontaneously - they just wanted to surprise customers.
“Over time, our feature has turned into a fairly profitable direction, but until now,” says Natalya, “it is not isolated as a separate business project. The project is self-sustaining, but serves more to win customer loyalty, rather than as an independent business. Hairdressers at Antoshka exist more for the emotional appeal than to increase the profitability of the store.”
This approach also determines the list of services offered by establishments in stores - as a rule, this is only a haircut followed by styling. “This business is so new that there is practically no competition,” says Igor Didenko, a private children’s hairdresser. — Children's stores compete with each other, but children's hairdressers do not. This direction is the future. After all, the birth rate is growing, and attitudes towards children are changing dramatically. Children are becoming an interesting target audience for business.” Therefore, “kinder-oriented” services are expected to develop rapidly in the next three to five years.
Children's hair salon: candy tactics
Children's hairdressers have an impressive range of distracting maneuvers in their arsenal. These include candies, cartoons, and toys. First, the master gets to know the child and tries to adapt to him. This is followed by a treat with sweets and an offer to watch a cartoon. Next, together with the child, choose a chair in which he will sit. “In one of our children’s hairdressing salons there is a live parrot - the child plays with it, looks around, gets used to it, watches how someone is getting a haircut, and in the end agrees to get a haircut,” explains Victoria Dyadyus, marketing director of the Igroland chain. - It is very important to tell and warn what will happen to him so that the child is not afraid. The traditional salon scheme of “wash-cut-styling” is not always followed in children's hairdressing salons - everything is at the request of the client. Children refuse to go through some stages, then, for example, instead of washing their hair, they simply spray their hair with water.”
Igor Didenko chose a different path for himself - following the example of his Western colleagues, a private children's hairdresser comes to the house.
“I work with children from six months to five years,” he says. — These children are the hardest to cut their hair, and after five years it is easier for a child to go to a salon. My work includes circus, cinema, and theater,” he explains. — First of all, I give the child candy and go play with him. And at every opportunity I slowly cut my hair. The children think that I come just to play, and even periodically ask: “Mom, when will Uncle Chupa-Chups come?”
Mothers hold eight-month-old babies in their arms, and sometimes the child just lies on the carpet - it’s more comfortable for him. Every day the hairdresser cuts hair for up to five clients, since he has to travel from one end of the city to the other. In the store’s salon, there are two specialists who serve up to 30 small clients every day.
For their ability not only to cut children's hair, but also to find an approach to them, hairdressers receive up to $600-1000 a month. It all depends on professionalism and an established client base. In children's salons, the client is much more attached to the master than in the case of an adult hairdresser, and is ready to follow him anywhere. “Such specialists are retained according to the “rate plus interest” scheme,” says Victoria Dyadyus. “If a master brings clients with him and is confident in them, then his monthly earnings can be 50% higher than the base one, but if the master is new but promising, then he can qualify for a 20% increase.”
Good children's masters can be counted on one hand. But you can learn this wisdom. “The master must love children and, in fact, learn to combine a mother, a hairdresser and a psychologist in one person,” says Victoria Dyadyus.
Children's neoclassicism
Whether in a children's store, in a shopping center or separately located, a children's hairdresser should be located in the path of parents. All options are good in their own way, and even in residential areas it makes sense to open such an establishment - however, if the master there is of the highest class. A classic children's hairdressing salon in the Ukrainian sense is a room with an area of up to 15 square meters. m as part of a shopping center or up to 30 sq. m, if we are talking about a separate establishment. Usually this is enough to organize two or three workplaces. “If the hairdresser is located in a place convenient for parents, then it is better to open a separate one,” Tatyana Lubanova is convinced. “A shopping complex would also be suitable, where parents can do some shopping and get their child’s hair cut, since a haircut takes from 20 to 30 minutes.” Igor Didenko, one of the first children's hairdressers in Ukraine, tells how one day parents drove across the entire city, almost to the outskirts of the capital, to cut their child's hair without tears. Therefore, the ideal option, he believes, is for a specialist to come to your home. In general, such a service, says Mr. Didenko, will be in great demand in the future. And those salons that offer it will only benefit.
But not every shopping and entertainment center is suitable for a children's salon - a large number of people and noise only scare children away, explains Igor Didenko. Although demand now so much exceeds supply that even in Lilliputian “Tasyukha” (about 10 sq. m., three workplaces), which is located in the Globus shopping and entertainment complex, there is no end to customers.
The main expense items are exclusive children's interiors and equipment.
The designer’s services and the renovation itself, depending on the complexity of the project, will cost $4-10 thousand. The package of documents for opening a children’s salon is standard, says Tatyana Lubanova. It is enough to register in the form of a private entrepreneur, bring the premises into compliance with the requirements of the SES and fire inspection.
The equipment in children's hairdressing salons is also somewhat different from that of adults.
You will definitely need a regular hairdressing chair - preferably one with pneumatics (so that you can adjust the height of the chair). It costs $150-400. Plus a chair in the shape of a car ($2 thousand). True, a hairdressing car can accommodate children up to three or four years old. You definitely need to get a plasma screen and DVD player ($400-800), a sofa for parents (from $400), and a wash chair (from $400). Design work for supplying water and other communications will cost the investor up to $1 thousand. As a result, for everything, excluding rent, you will need $15-20 thousand to start. If you have your own premises, good, but if you rent them, you will have to pay another $2-3 monthly thousand
There is no need to worry about payback, market players assure.
“If an adult can get a haircut at any time of the day, then children usually get their hair cut on weekends, because on weekdays a child cannot come on his own,” explains Victoria Dyadyus. — Parents adjust their feeding and sleep schedules. If you charge 20-30 UAH for a haircut. and serve about 500 children per month, then the investment will pay off within three years. This is despite the fact that we focus on young children. If you open a full-fledged salon for children of all ages with additional services such as highlighting for teenagers and children’s manicure, then the funds will be returned even faster.”
Igor Didenko identifies two success factors - qualified craftsmen and a good interior
. With a standard European-quality renovation, the interior will definitely burn out, the master is convinced. But exclusivity, alas, has its risks if the premises are rented. If rental rates rise every day, you may find yourself out of business after spending a considerable amount on exclusive decoration. “The owners of the Kyiv “Charivny Vulik” decorated their salon beautifully - a festive children's atmosphere, bright sunny colors, with a separate area for adults, with a coffee shop, toys... But, alas, they closed. Nobody knows the exact reasons, but, most likely, rental rates have skyrocketed,” says Mr. Didenko. — It’s better to own the premises or rent space in specialized children’s stores. In the children’s hairdressing salon “Jub” there was an aquarium in the floor - even adults were interested in looking at it, not to mention children.” So far, only major players have equipped their own children's hair salons - the Antoshka chain of stores and the Igroland shopping and entertainment complex for children.
The main driver of the market is, of course, word of mouth; satisfied mothers willingly share information and recommendations on children's websites.
Children usually get their hair cut once every two months. Hairdressers also retain their clients thanks to special bonuses and discounts - for example, it is customary to offer discounts for birthdays. But children's hairdressers could be more creative in promoting their own services. And do not rely on parental gossip, but organize information occasions yourself. For example, hold some kind of joint quiz with a parenting magazine, the prize in which would be a free haircut at the hairdresser. Or the employees of a children's salon could write a fashion column in a magazine for teenagers.
“So far no one is working in this area through franchising.
, says Tatyana Lubyanova. — The quality of the service needs to be recognizable. Since the direction is quite new, we have not come to this point yet. Perhaps a school for children's hairdressers and specialized master classes will soon appear. Then it will be possible to think about a chain of salons.” Igor Didenko is already thinking about this: “You can count the number of children’s masters on your fingers - there is no school. Many people ask if I plan to open my own school for children's craftsmen. I'm already thinking about it. I have already accumulated enough experience and ideas, so I am now looking for an investor to open the first children’s salon and school of children’s hairdressers.”
“In Ukraine, the culture of haircuts will develop,” explains Mr. Didenko. “Nowadays, children from an early age want to be fashionable and beautiful, so children’s salons will be in great demand.” In the future, says Igor Didenko, children's hairdressing salons will turn into salons in the full sense of the word. Additional services such as children's highlighting, aqua make-up, makeup, and manicure can increase the profitability of the business. Plus a technician visiting your home and the like. In a word, the wheel of the children's beauty industry is turning. Few players are just thinking about the transition from an additional service to a pure business or are looking for investors. So the way is clear, gentlemen!

Risks and guarantees
The Children's Hairdressing Salon project is characterized by a low level of start-up investment and relative simplicity of organization. However, due to the novelty of the format, there are certain risks associated with low business profitability, associated both with narrow specialization and with other reasons. For more information about the risks, see Table. 6.
Table 6. Assessment of project risks and measures to prevent their occurrence or their consequences
№ | Risk | Probability of occurrence | Severity of consequences | Prevention measures |
1 | Low profitability | average | average | Carrying out active work to attract clients and form a base, a high level of service, an individual approach to the client, a wide range of additional services |
2 | The emergence of competitors of a similar format | low | average | Increasing customer loyalty, expanding the range of services, changing prices for some services without negative consequences for demand |
3 | Formation of a negative image about the hairdresser | low | high | Hiring professional hairdressers, undergoing training, working on studying consumer preferences, using marketing tools, image advertising |
4 | Unexpected rent increase | low | low | Concluding a long-term lease agreement in rubles, discussing all its conditions in advance |
5 | Emergency or natural disaster | low | high | Using fire alarms and following safety precautions |
Eventually
This example of a business plan is suitable for implementation both in independent form and as an addition to an existing project. Investments made by the owner at the start of his career will pay off in the coming year, and the created project will bring profit for a long time.
It is worth noting that such a promising business needs to be implemented now, while the market niche for children's hairdressing salons is still empty. After all, after the emergence of healthy and ubiquitous competition, starting a business from scratch will be more difficult.
