In a hurry: Fast foods and inexpensive cafes of 2011

Since we write so often with our reviews about fast food

and everything connected with it, I would like to make some contribution related to
fast food
.
We thought and decided that the dishes most associated with fast food are those based on a combination of ready-made semi-finished meat products and buns. Whether it's a burger
,
a hot dog
or
a sandwich
- all these dishes belong to what is hated by many and loved by others - fast food.

One designer from New York recently made a masterpiece out of sandwiches. The idea was this: every day he bought different sandwiches

and scanned them in cross-section.
What designer Jon Chonko created can be considered an art called “scanwich”. For the profood
, these same “scanwiches” will be of great benefit, since we can show you, dear readers, what many popular sandwiches here and in the West look like when a hungry buyer looks at them, and we will also list the
main ingredients
for their preparation.

Bacon and Turkey Sandwich

This sandwich is a great snack. To prepare it you will need: bacon

,
tomatoes
,
lettuce
,
turkey
,
mayonnaise
and
fried toast bread
.
Among the intricacies of preparation, the following is frying the toast bread in a salamander grill
or
toaster
. Since the sandwich turns out to be quite high, the bread is placed not only on top and bottom, but also in the middle. The top layer is fried bacon and tomatoes, the bottom layer is turkey with cheese and lettuce.

Organizational plan

Practical activities begin with the registration of business activities. Subsequently, a search for a location, selection of premises, repairs, purchase of equipment and recruitment of personnel are carried out.

Business registration

There are 2 options - individual entrepreneur and LLC.

The status of an individual entrepreneur provides the following advantages:

  • simple design;
  • inexpensive state duty (800 rubles);
  • simplified accounting.

Advantages of a legal entity:

  • trust from banks and suppliers;
  • the possibility of cooperation with any companies (some manufacturers fundamentally do not work with individual entrepreneurs).

Reference: An individual entrepreneur is responsible for the entire business with his own property, and the founder of an LLC is financially liable only within the framework of the authorized capital. This means that the entrepreneur is obliged to repay all debts even when closing the individual entrepreneur, and when closing the LLC, the founder has the right to repay the debt in an amount not exceeding the authorized capital.

Further registration steps are identical for both statuses:

  • contacting the SES and Rospotrebnadzor;
  • obtaining permits to open a cafe;
  • equipment of the premises according to fire safety standards.

All received documentation is stored in the café building, including registration of business activities.

Selecting a room

Renting a building should be approached in compliance with the following points:

  • the location corresponds to high traffic volumes - a central park, a large shopping center, a university building, administrative buildings;
  • the presence of no more than 1-2 competitors in the cafe opening area;
  • it is desirable that the premises were previously used for catering;
  • low rent.

Repair and decoration of the establishment

The premises for a fast food cafe are subject to mandatory renovation. This includes:

  • redevelopment of the hall to meet the requirements for public catering places;
  • finishing the room in a unique style;
  • cosmetic repair actions.

The specific decoration depends on the type of future establishment - cafe, dining room or bistro. Basically, the principle is the same for everyone - a large hall for receiving visitors, a kitchen and a staff room.

Equipment purchase

Minimum set of equipment for opening a fast food cafe:

  • fridge;
  • plate;
  • deep fryer;
  • washing;
  • Electric kettle;
  • microwave;
  • scales;
  • showcase;
  • cash machine.

Don't forget about seating. To do this you will need a set of tables and chairs. Additional equipment and decoration of the hall occurs solely at the discretion of the owner of the establishment.

Assortment compilation and menu development

When compiling the assortment, the focus is on widely demanded and inexpensive products. Sample menu for a fast food cafe:

  • first and second courses;
  • salads;
  • fish;
  • meat;
  • bakery;
  • wide range of fast food;
  • beverages.

It would be a good idea to include sushi and pizza in the assortment. If the cafe is open at night, alcoholic drinks will attract additional visitors.

Recruitment

The average cafe includes the following list of employees:

  • cook;
  • auxiliary worker;
  • salesman-cashier.

At first, the role of administrator can be performed by the owner of the establishment.

Sandwich with salami and prosciutto

Compound

This
sandwich
, like its origin, tends to Italy, where most sandwiches are made on the basis of a baguette cut lengthwise, with the addition of exclusively Italian ingredients.
So, this sandwich includes: capricola
(dried pork from the back and shin),
mortadella
(world-famous boiled sausage from Bologna),
prosciutto
(essentially ham, Italian ham grated with salt),
salami sausage
,
provolone
(hard Italian cheese with low fat content),
pickled peppers
. In fact, the sequence of laying out the ingredients in this sandwich is not very important, and it absolutely cannot be spoiled, since all the products that are used in it have their own shade of taste and are felt each separately. Therefore, in this case, the cat Matroskin would not give advice to Uncle Fyodor about the wrongness of eating a sandwich.

Where to begin?

Organizing actions to open a cafe begins with the theoretical part - analyzing the market and competitors, as well as identifying potential risks. This will allow you to better think through your future business plan and practical activities.

The target audience

The factor is inextricably linked with the location of the establishment. For example, if a cafe is located near an educational institution, then the target audience is students and teaching staff. If the catering is located in the area of the cultural park, then the audience is larger, 50% of which are married couples with children and people under the age of 35-40.

Advice: to attract customers, it is recommended to decide on the style and name of the establishment. For example, the Student Cafe or the Family Corner. This will increase the number of visitors on a subconscious level.

Young people are more likely to go have a bite to eat at a cafe called “Studentskoye” than to a standard cheburek shop.

Market and competitor analysis

The competition in the catering business is quite high, so the analysis must be carried out as carefully as possible.

First of all, several places are visited, which, in the opinion of the entrepreneur, are the most successful and profitable. Attention is paid to the location, area, design of the establishment, as well as the assortment. At the same time, it would be useful to visit less attractive cafes.

A comparative analysis of several public catering establishments will help you avoid many mistakes that novice entrepreneurs make:

  • room area - it should not be larger than that of competitors;
  • assortment - mainly depends on the type of establishment;
  • pricing policy - in the first 2-3 months it is better to sell products at a lower cost than competitors, until a permanent customer base is formed.

Having decided on a location, attention is paid to all catering in the area with an analysis of work activities. Taking into account the mistakes of competitors, you can open a profitable business almost immediately.

Risk assessment

The main risks when opening a fast food cafe:

  • high competition - it is not recommended to choose a location where there are more than 2 similar establishments nearby. The purchasing power and traffic of people in this case will be extremely low;
  • long-term payback - on average, a fast food cafe will become profitable in 8-10 months, but with additional risks, such as a low number of visitors, the period can last for 1.5-2 years;
  • low business profitability - the risk is associated with high regular costs and reduced purchasing power. The problem is solved by a complete revision of the financial plan, since it does not meet the main goal - earning money.

Note: often even a profitable and successful establishment is not able to operate profitably due to high rents, a large number of employees and low markups on products.

In fact, all the money earned goes to pay bills. The solution to the problem is to change the location, reduce staff and expand the range with an increase in markup.

Sandwich Dagwood

In fact,
the Dagwood Sandwich
is an invention that was introduced into one of the famous American comics called “Blondie”, published since 1939.
The main character of this comic, Dagwood Bumstead, constantly made huge sandwiches with a combination of both compatible and not so compatible products. Usually the height of the sandwich was about 30 cm, and in order to bite it, the main character, of course, had to open his mouth the entire length of the sandwich. Despite the fact that this sandwich appeared in a comic book, this did not prevent it from being included in the American Heritage Dictionary, as well as becoming a common name in Webster's Dictionary. In 1950, entrepreneurs Bob Weiler and Art Lang opened a Dagwood-themed restaurant in Toledo, Ohio, with hopes of creating a national chain. They have not licensed the Dagwood name and have been ordered to stop using it under US copyright infringement. However, in 2006, the Dagwood's Sandwich Shoppes
, which has franchise establishments in Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri (USA) and Georgia.
Although the network struggled to achieve financial breakthrough, it was unable to achieve the growth expected of its founders. Today, a real Dagwood sandwich consists of: slices of toast bread

,
salami
, ham
,
pepperoni
,
turkey
,

cheddar cheese
,
provolone
(hard Italian cheese),
lettuce

, tomatoes ,

roasted red peppers
,
banana
peppers
,
red onions , mustard
,
mayonnaise
and low calorie content.

Calculation of investments and payback

As experts note, the profitability of fast foods exceeds large catering establishments several times. But even a small stall requires certain costs. Starting investments:

  1. Purchase of equipment – 300,000 rubles.
  2. Repair, installation of air conditioners and powerful hoods – RUB 100,000.
  3. Proper execution of documents, payment of state duty - 15,000 rubles.

Monthly expenses will be:

  1. Staff salary – 15,000 rubles. This figure depends on the region, work schedule and responsibilities of the employee.
  2. Taxes – income tax 6% of profit.
  3. Purchase of products and consumables – 80,000 rubles.
  4. Rent – 35,000 rub. The cost within one city can vary significantly depending on the size and traffic.
  5. Utilities – 8,000 rub.

In this type of business there is no fixed markup, so markup reaches 100%. With proper organization, marketing and advertising, you can reach net income in 6 months.

Even if you take into account seasonal fluctuations, fast food as a business is a profitable endeavor. Even if you don't want to experiment, opening a shawarma and hot dog stand in a good location will allow you to achieve success.

Roast beef sandwich

Everything about this sandwich is quite simple and concise. Take a hamburger bun and cut it in half lengthwise. The main thing in a sandwich is meat! Roast beef recipe

next: to prepare it, tender beef tenderloin is grilled or baked in the oven. The juicy meat is placed in pieces between the bun halves, spread with mustard and voila - the dish is ready to serve. The appearance of the roast sandwich in the photo is quite dull, and it can be safely decorated with vegetables and other products. BUT! This will no longer be the signature Roast Beef sandwich, but a variation of it.

Equipment

The choice of equipment determines the range of fast food. For the fast food business, the following units are purchased:

  • hot dog and shawarma machines;
  • pancake maker;
  • deep fryer;
  • grill;
  • waffle iron;
  • microwave;
  • coffee machine;
  • boiler;
  • refrigerators;
  • showcase and order counter.

To equip the kitchen, they purchase a dishwasher, knives, spoons, plates, pots and other equipment. A cash register is installed on the counter. To serve visitors, they purchase dishes, forks, knives, napkins, and glasses. Fast food cafes usually use disposable utensils made of plastic or cardboard.

Tables and chairs are purchased for visitors in the hall. For such establishments, simple and practical furniture is chosen. If space is limited, purchase a bar counter and several chairs.

Steak sandwich

The secret to a steak sandwich is to use a fluffy bun, the kind used in French restaurants. The main ingredient is pork steak, chopped into pieces.

, with the addition of
vegetables - tomatoes and lettuce
. Despite the steak used in it, such a sandwich is very light and will be an excellent snack.

Choosing a format and direction

There are two formats of fast food establishments:

  • fast food outlet;
  • kiosk on wheels.

The first business option requires large investments, but brings high profits. Be sure to rent space in a shopping center or other building. A kiosk on wheels is mobile, so it can reach a large audience.

Then choose the direction of business. The range of fast food and the purchase of equipment depend on this. It is allowed to include different types of snacks on the menu.

Main types of fast food establishments:

  • Fast food cafe. Unlike restaurants, they have a limited selection. There are no waiters in the establishment; snacks and drinks are provided by the cashier.
  • Free flow. Customers move freely around the trading floor. The food is prepared in front of the visitors. When the visitor has selected dishes, he goes to the checkout and pays for the order.
  • Fast-fine. This business focuses on healthy and high-quality food. Moreover, its preparation takes a minimum of time.
  • Street food. Street establishments offering various types of fast food.
  • Fast food to go. The most budget-friendly business option. The dishes are placed in a cardboard or plastic container so that visitors can take them with them.

Sandwich Chip Butty

Cheap British sandwich

which consists of
fried potatoes
cut into sticks and
toasted bread and ketchup
.
The British are very different from us in this regard - if we consider potatoes to be second bread and do not eat potatoes with bread, then they are the opposite and even make sandwiches from these two seemingly incompatible ingredients. Well, if you are a representative of a British restaurant or pub, you can experiment in Belarus
. The main feature of the sandwich is that it is very cheap.

Marketing and advertising

Company promoting a new cafe:

  • promotional services;
  • posts in city public pages on social networks;
  • an attractive sign;
  • banners and other advertising platforms in the area where the cafe is located.

Advertising on local television will not have the desired effect unless it is a restaurant or an above-average establishment. Bistro is not one of those.

Branded sandwich for Boxing Day in the UK

The composition of the sandwich may cause confusion, but such a sandwich is actually prepared: in ham

,
dark meat turkey
,
mashed potatoes
,
beans
,
sweet potato pie
,
cranberry sauce
,
Santa Claus cookies
,
candy canes
.
All this is laid out on a hamburger bun
.

Disadvantages of food courts

Opening a fast food restaurant in a shopping center is a profitable investment, but it also has its own nuances. The main disadvantages of food courts: fierce competition and dependence on shopping centers. On a hundred square meters with several establishments with different prices and menus, there is always an active struggle for the guest.

Since the hall is common to all food courts, the visitor chooses the place where he will eat according to several criteria.

Availability of queue

The faster you serve customers, the fewer people are in line, which means more potential visitors. Usually people in shopping centers don’t want to spend a lot of time eating, so they value every minute. Someone may have a snack while waiting for a movie, someone comes at their lunch time, etc.

The ideal option is to install terminals with touch screens through which you can place an order. To make visitors more willing to use them, try creating a promotional offer. For example, give a drink as a gift if you order through the terminal or give a small discount on the order amount.

It is also important to install a convenient and simple accounting system for the cafe, so that your cashiers quickly take orders and pay customers.

Price of dishes

A mistake many novice restaurateurs make is the establishment’s incorrect pricing policy. The price of the dish should not be too high, however, it must correspond to the quality.

If a shopping center has many branded clothing and shoe stores, visitors are likely to have a middle to high income. Therefore, they can pay more than people with low ability to pay. However, such guests are more demanding of the quality of service and the dishes themselves.

It is also very important not to forget about the visitors and solvency of the audience of your shopping center. Even in the most luxurious shopping center, no one is willing to pay more for lunch at the food court than in a regular cafe with a more cozy atmosphere and waiter service.

Range

The wider the choice, the more diverse the target audience. But due to the fact that fast foods are located in a small, limited area, it will not be possible to prepare a huge number of dishes.

It is worth carefully monitoring the needs of guests, forming a menu in accordance with the demand for dishes and leaving only those items that are in great demand, for example, sweet pastries, pizza, hot dogs, etc.

Food court design

The design of a retail outlet plays an important role when choosing an establishment. Guests prefer food courts with visible, clear signage and comfortable seating. It’s quite difficult to stand out from your competitors, so if you’re not opening a chain cafe, you should entrust the design of a sign, take-out menu, etc. to professionals.

Recognition

People will approach a well-promoted brand more often than an unknown one. New establishments must invest in marketing to attract consumers. It’s best to start by promoting your establishment on the Internet.

In addition, landlords prefer to cooperate with well-known fast food brands that already have their own audience. However, if the concept of your establishment is truly non-standard, interesting and this will force visitors to spend more time in the shopping center, the landlord will agree to work with newcomers. Or you will simply pay the rent regularly and agree to its terms.

Another problem is dependence on shopping centers. The opening hours of a fast food outlet most often depend on the opening hours of the shopping center itself and the stores inside it.

If you want your establishment to continue serving visitors after the shops close, provided that the cinema, skating rink, or entertainment hall will continue to operate, then it is better to discuss this with the landlord in advance.

Emphasize the architectural style of the building

When renting space in an old cloth factory building, converting it into a high-tech fast food restaurant will be a little strange. Yes, perhaps this format is better suited for the location than a coffee shop or casual cafe, but you can build the same fast food without destroying the atmosphere of the building, and emphasize this in the design of the facade and inside the premises.

Now top restaurateurs are trying to restore architectural monuments and, thanks to this, attract new visitors, creating new successful concepts.

Advantages of our design studio

In our portfolio you will find many finished projects that our loyal clients were satisfied with. Why should you order a design project from us? It's simple:

  • we are supporters of everything new and original, so you can forget about banal projects of boring cafes;
  • it will not take much time to develop the project, even creative chaos is strictly regulated, and the project will be prepared by the set date;
  • the designer quickly reaches an understanding with the client: we will understand what you want;
  • The cost of work is calculated individually, prices depend on the complexity of the project.

Restaurant design for opening

You can initially invest in working with a consulting company that will assemble the ideal launch team for you, and even before launch, your project will become popular. Guests and bloggers will line up to be the first to visit you. Or you can ignore this point, do everything with a student designer and a few other like-minded people, and then spend the same amount on marketing in the first month: attracting bloggers, writing reviews, discounts, flyers and other ways to announce yourself to the world.

But you can ignore both of these actions. If you are confident that you are building a “rocket” that will take off on its own. Then spend the same budget in six months to finance and close the project. Closing a restaurant, by the way, costs only slightly less than opening one.

How to understand who these trending people are? Delve into the market and look at the leaders. When you see a successful project and want it to be like theirs, this does not mean that you need to copy the menu or poach the administrator. You should take a comprehensive approach to project development. Any successful project is the work of a whole team, not just one person. It is very important when choosing this team to find your people. There is always a choice, and first of all you need to look for people with the same values as yours.

Not a single eminent designer will pull off a project with his work alone; The product will always remain at the forefront, but the right atmosphere will present it in the most favorable light.

Where the food is delicious for guests, it will always be beautiful. Even the most inconspicuous design at first glance will become cozy and cute for them. The product should always be at the forefront, followed by design, service and atmosphere. But don't be overconfident. Even if you make the most delicious pies in the world, that doesn't mean they don't need to be presented beautifully. So what is more important - design or product? In creating any project, balance is important, everything should be equal, and all parties should strengthen each other.

In a hurry: Fast foods and inexpensive cafes of 2011

This year, many fast food restaurants, including McDonalds and Burger King, decided to rebrand their restaurants to make their restaurants cozier, more family-friendly and more automated. Some of the companies went further - and partially changed the menu - influenced by the growing popularity of a healthy lifestyle. Hence the use of green and brown colors, minimalism, wooden walls and furniture. Although the Italians will never deny themselves the creation of luxurious interiors, even if it is just a bakery.

The German fast food chain Wienerwald, which opened its first restaurant in 1955, commissioned the Ippolito Fleitz Group design studio to develop a new interior concept for itself. This is due to a change in the general policy of the company - a shift towards the consumption of fresh and healthy products and proper nutrition. The materials chosen by the designers - wood, leather and fabric - as well as the colors - green, light green, white and brown - emphasize the naturalness and freshness of the dishes prepared at Wienerwald. Everywhere - on the mirrors, on the wallpaper, on the glass of shop windows - there are silhouettes of trees that transport visitors to the thicket of the forest.

In London, design studio Ab Rogers developed an experimental “Living Lab” interior for a Pizza Express restaurant, in which they tried to take into account all the details, from food preparation and acoustics to design and service. Restaurant visitors can listen to their own music, call a waiter at the press of a button, and watch through “fake” mirrors as their pizza is prepared. With the help of a bright and energizing environment, the project designers wanted to put the restaurant's chef and his dishes at the very center.

Designer Patrick Norguet, responsible for the redesign of McDonald's restaurants throughout France, decided to change the already established image of "a popular meeting place for young people" and make McDonald's again a cozy restaurant for family lunches and dinners. Now the restaurants will be designed primarily in the traditional McDonald's white-red-yellow color scheme and will consist of several zones to create a feeling of comfort and privacy for visitors. Electronic displays will be located next to the tables, with the help of which you can place an order, which will be brought directly to visitors.

In the Indian city of Chennai, Mancini Enterpises studio designed the design of the two-story cafe Mocha Mojo, the walls of which resemble multi-colored Lego pieces and send you back to a carefree childhood. With the help of a bright design, balanced by soft seats and dim lighting, the authors of the project want to make the cafe a place from a fantasy world, ideal for conversations and time spent with friends over a cup of coffee.

Studioprototype Architects has developed the design for the cafe-shop of the Elektra family bakery chain, located on the main pedestrian street of Edessa, Greece. The lighting chosen by the designers is designed to emphasize the baked goods displayed on the display, and the use of marble, cedar and brass makes the cafe look like an old bakery. The room itself occupies a small space, so all the tables, including high stools at the bar, are located outside.

London design studio Joint Perspectives has developed the Mundvoll Café + Grocery Store project – a cafe and store “all in one”. Located on the campus of a university in the German city of Friedrichshafen, the establishment aims to revive the once popular concept of small shops in the country where you can stop by for groceries, have a snack and have a good time with friends or family. The main emphasis in the design was placed on a bright and laconic interior, which creates a pleasant and energizing atmosphere.

A small cozy cafe “Coutume” has opened in the center of Paris, whose design was developed by the studio CUT Architectures. The cafe provides an opportunity for coffee connoisseurs to try excellent varieties of roasted coffee beans and taste dishes made from fresh and healthy products. Inspired by technology, alchemy and tradition, the project's architects tore down the walls, restoring a classic Parisian interior - high ceilings, stucco, columns, laconic design and a spacious entrance. But they also didn’t forget to add a few original details - plastic curtains, white tiles, a network of lighting fixtures and stainless steel appliances.

Design studio Outofstock created a “pilot” restaurant “BK Garden Grill” in Singapore for the international chain Burger King as part of a project to change the company’s image. Using wooden furniture, chandeliers in the shape of clay pots, real flowers, brick walls and an “earthy” color palette, the studio’s designers wanted to transport restaurant visitors from a stuffy, noisy city to a spacious garden for a friendly barbecue, awakening pleasant memories of similar gatherings from the past. By the beginning of 2012, it is planned to open several more similar restaurants in Singapore and Japan.

The Italian architectural bureau ColliDanielArchitetto has developed an elegant and sophisticated interior design for one of the Vyta Italian Boulangerie bakeries, once again confirming the leadership of the Italians in this area. With the help of contrasting light brown and shiny black materials and spot lighting, project architect Daniela Colli tried, on the one hand, to create a mysterious and theatrical atmosphere for visitors to the bakery, and, on the other, to combine the concepts of ancient bakeries with modern urban bakeries in one place.

Greek architecture firm K-Studio has completed the design of the Italian pizzeria-trattoria Capanna in the center of Athens, where the tiles on the floor and walls are decorated with patterns, and antique chairs and tables were found at flea markets. In addition, artist Joanna Burtenshaw created amazing murals specially for the trattoria using a ballpoint pen on the walls of its second floor, where wooden shutters hide the kitchen, toilet and storage room.

Design of veranda and cafe terrace

The veranda and terrace of the cafe must correspond to the general style of the interior. It is important to create comfortable conditions for guests so that they can enjoy communication and delicious treats in any weather conditions.

A veranda or terrace is the business card of an establishment, which can also serve as an advertisement for a cozy and pleasant environment.

The original veranda on the roof of the building will allow guests to enjoy a pleasant stay overlooking the sights of the city or picturesque nature.

State

A small cafe needs:

  • The cook who prepares the dish.
  • Product distributor (also cashier and assistant cook).
  • Product purchasing manager and accountant (or the cafe owner can take on this responsibility).

In a very small cafe, the same person cooks and sells. However, by saving on staff, you can be left without income if the seller unexpectedly gets sick or quits.

For a medium format fast food cafe with an area of at least 40 sq. m and a hall for guests the following employees will be needed:

  • Cook.
  • Chef's assistant.
  • Waiter.
  • Cafe administrator (he can also be used as an accountant or supplier).
  • Cleaning woman.

Unusual cafe interior styles

Everything new and unusual attracts people. If the establishment has something that competitors have not yet come up with, high attendance is guaranteed.

The following design styles are suitable:

  • Eco style. People who advocate for the protection of nature will like it. The establishment can grow real trees that were preserved during the construction of the building. Simplicity of design, environmentally friendly materials and organic products are all a good basis for a modern popular cafe.

  • Moroccan style. Connoisseurs of oriental culture will like the design in this stylistic direction.

  • Sea style. The original design will help attract those who want to evaluate the design. The style is suitable for decorating a fish cafe, as if guests, while on a ship, are waiting for freshly caught fish to be cooked.

  • Classic style is suitable for the design of an expensive cafe and restaurant. The luxurious and stylish interior will interest representatives of secular society.

To increase the popularity of the establishment, you can use even the most daring and extreme ideas. For example, on the island of Taiwan there is a cafe “Modern Toilet”, in which visitors sit on toilets, and food is also served to them in the toilets.

Selecting location and premises

The main and only rule is walking distance for the client. If large-format establishments can afford to be located far away (after all, people go to them purposefully), then fast food should be “at hand.”

The best option is places with large crowds of people:

  • Shopping centers
  • Business centers
  • Transport interchanges

Placing in these walk-through areas will provide you with a constant flow of customers without advertising costs.

Now about the size of the room. Here, start from the chosen product. A counter with shawarma or grilled chicken takes up minimal space - about 10 square meters. A pizzeria, a pie shop, and a noodle shop all require large areas. occupies 50 square meters. Fast food restaurant for 30 seats - 100 m². The footage is indicated taking into account both the dining room and the technological area.

Showcases

Like floor-to-ceiling windows, window stands work great and will perform just as well in 2020. For small establishments, this is almost the only option to organically attract guests from the street.

Showcases inside the establishment, especially illuminated ones, also increase sales well and, if positioned correctly, do not interfere with guests who have already made an order, but at the same time attract only visitors who have entered.

How much does it cost to open a fast food restaurant in a food court area?

The first thing any budding restaurateur is interested in is how much does it cost to open a fast food restaurant? In each individual case the final figure will be different. It depends on the costs of the components:

  • rental of premises;
  • set of equipment;
  • repair;
  • marketing;
  • registration of permits;
  • purchases of basic goods;
  • staff salaries.

All costs are divided into initial and monthly. The latter include wages, food purchases, rent, utility bills and advertising. Costs may vary. For example, the cost of renting an area in a food court depends on the size of the city (in the capital, over a million people and in the regional center they are different), location in the city, area of the establishment, status of the shopping center, etc.

If you buy a franchise, then all the calculations have already been done for you, you only need starting capital. It should be remembered that there are no specific franchising standards, so each network includes different points in the franchise. Thus, some companies do not take into account the cost of renting and repairing a point. Don't be surprised if, in the end, the costs of opening a fast food restaurant turn out to be 3-5 thousand dollars higher than the franchisor stated.

Registration and documentation

To open even a small business, a future entrepreneur must register. If a trailer or small fast food cafe opens, it will be enough to register as an individual entrepreneur.

If you plan to develop a small business into large establishments, a chain of cafes under a single brand, you will need to register as a legal entity - LLC. This will take more time and require money, but will give the green light for serious development of the company.

To open a fast food cafe, you will need tracking papers:

  • Conclusion of the SES and fire service.
  • Sanitary passport for the premises.
  • Technical cards for all dishes.
  • Certificates of quality of food products (ingredients).
  • Registration and approval of cash registers.
