OKVED codes are intended to identify types of economic activity. All possible options for codes and names of business areas are given in the unified OKVED2 classifier, approved by Rosstandart (order No. 14-st dated January 31, 2014, as amended on July 10, 2018). The risk class when determining the rate of insurance premiums for “injuries” depends on the selected code. In some segments, only those business entities that have the appropriate license can operate. The selected codes can also influence the choice of taxation system, since for the transition to special tax regimes there is a list of restrictions on areas of business.
Class OKVED 73 - Advertising activities and market research
OKVED code 73.20.2 Activities for studying public opinion When registering an LLC or individual entrepreneur, as well as when making changes to the type of activity of the company, you need to select the required codes in the directory and indicate them in the application.
In the directory, all codes are indicated with a decoding, which will allow you to correctly select them.
Please note that the number of codes you select is unlimited, but from them you must select one main one, for which the percentage of revenue you receive must be at least 60% of the main amount of income for this activity.
Main OKVED (advertising activities)
The main code can only be one cipher. It is on this basis that the risk of the working conditions of hired personnel is assessed, and the tariffication of insurance premiums for “injuries” is established on it.
The advertising activity classifier deals with the generalized code “73”. It is divided into several subgroups; you need to choose a code consisting of at least 4 characters, which most accurately characterizes the economic activity of the business entity.
The OKVED group “Advertising Activities” (2019), starting with the combination of numbers “73”, includes the following services:
- conducting advertising campaigns;
- a range of services for selecting a place to place an advertising message, for placing advertisements in periodical media;
- advertising on radio and TV;
- development of advertising video design;
- website design services to attract the attention of visitors;
- conducting a needs analysis and studying the opinions of the target audience, marketing research;
- assessment of the target market segment to develop an effective plan for the tactical and strategic development of the company.
This group of encodings is suitable as the main activity only for those enterprises and individual entrepreneurs that specialize in providing advertising services. But they cannot act as the main ones if the company simply allocates part of its assets for the placement of someone else’s advertising. For example, an organization is engaged in bus transportation of passengers on intercity routes. Advertising of other companies is placed on all vehicles of the company for a fee. In this case, the main activity will be the transportation of passengers, and advertising activities will be of secondary importance.
Options for additional OKVED for advertising
You can select an unlimited number of additional activity area codes, the main thing is that the company actually conducts work in the selected areas and receives income from it. If necessary, codes can be excluded or added - for this, a corresponding application is submitted to the Federal Tax Service.
